Hey Dave: Looks like a good day. Is that a cocker/Jack RT cross? May be a good breed to keep going. Thanks for sharing. Rick

I'm
hunting waterfowl with 3 years old labrador. Terrain - abandond fields and small creeks. Temperature - around 30. Do I need vest for the dog? If so, what would you recommend? Or, what to stay away from? Respectfully Dmitry

You also need to plan on coming after teh first of the year. Pheasants dont hold well AT ALL early in the year, its always to warm. Wait till the temp drops and we start getting some snowfall. Personally I dont chase pheasants till after
Jan 1 and NEVER with a young dog. The birds and CRP are way to hard on them.

It really doesnt matter, although it does take a male and female to tango. If you are wanting to seriously campaign a dog then I would go with the male, no heat cylces or puppies to contend with. Breeding has lots of nice names in it, but appears to be more of a
melting pot than anything.

Also, any good restaurants or watering holes in those areas would be good to know.
