> For some reason "part 1" was locked so I'll respond here. I've had NO trouble with mags sticking on the Hogue stock, not even after-market hi-cap ones. If I did have that problem I'd probably have corrected it by trimming the rubber around the mag well. The scope pictured is a Simmons Aetec variable power 2-14x55mm. Not terribly expensive, about $150.00 but extremely clear. I'm quite happy with it in all...

> I thought the mag. receiver was steel; and not the alloy of the .22 rf version. True? If so, I can't believe that the .22 mag. round would be causing battering problems. Something else?

> The 10/22 Magnum receiver is indeed made from steel. discontinuing it may have to do with the issues of people doing the 17 HMR conversion which Ruger itself was not successful at That is my guess, anyway). The conversion was the plan when I bought mine but it shot so well it stayed a 22 Magnum and I have never regretted it.

> My WAG is that it was some lawyer driven perceived liability problem, that would cause them to curtail production. It could be something safety wise that could go wrong and cause injury in only very rare circumstances, but the manufacturer doesn't want to chance it, in front of a jury.

> The .17 conversion required a heavier recoil spring or bolt. People were just changing out the barrel. I have seen the buffer pin bent from the use of 17 HMR. The shooter would change the barrel back and send the gun back for warranty work. I suspect that if the 10-22 lr were intorduced today much the same would happen with the 17 mkII and Ruger might make the same decision.

> I have been trying to find out if Winchester actually made any of these rifles in the Classic Stainless Steel Sporter version with the synthetic stock. I have ran several want ads for this gun with no responses. The catalog number was 11693. I have searched the net for information and have found none. Does anyone know for sure if this gun was actually produced?

> Hello Josh, Are they empties or loaded cartridges? Your dad is overly optimistic. The 219 Zipper was introduced in 1937 (for the Winchester Model 64) and discontinued in 1957 when the Model 64 was discontinued. Ammo was still made by Winchester for about 15-years after (discontinued in the early 1970s), and while it is not "common", it is a long way from being "...

> Personally, I don't think the average person can make a Mini 14 accurate in the same way they can buy or work with their AR making it more accurate. The Mini 14 is, I think, best thought of as a modern day M1 carbine. It is dependable and accurate enough for general shooting, but it's not a target gun. You can send it off to these guys: http://www.ruger-mini-14-...
