I had one of each. Puker and silent-refluxer and I'd have to say there are definitely negatives either way - oh, like that's a real revalation:) The puker is easier in some ways b/c everyone believes you, you don't have to worry about a reflux diagnosis or getting meds or getting the "ol' he/she's fat, she must be fine" line. But then you have the puke everywhere to deal with and the oral aversion, FTT, etc....

Ugh..... would we know what normal is? Not sure that I would. Altthough........ J is starting to let us snuggle with her and has begun to put things in her mouth from the floor. She can even lay on her back and roll around while breathing happily.

30 minute rule
Published (2010-01-01 00:00:00)
We do the 30 min. rule still at almost 9 mo., even for our MOTN feeds. ?It sucks, but if I put her down before that I can count on her refluxing, usually projectile w/ a bad episode.

30 minute rule

? It's critical to do the 30 minute rule.? I know it must be hard with twins but its? critical to his digestion.? We used the bouncy chair.? I'd use the car if he can tolerate it and you want him to go to sleep.? or maybe you meant car seat? I think a lot of people on here are baby wearers and I totally would have done that if any of the slings and stuff fit me.? but this way you'd be hands free to deal with the other baby.

i hear you on the depression :( i really thought i was doing better and so decided to stop one of my meds and i go back to the dr on monday b/c i just cant handle things without it. I too have been spending a lot more time just playing or watching Delilah, something i never did as she younger. My PPD was so debilitating i never enjoyed her like i feel i should have. Im trying to make up for it now but i will never get those first 7mo back and...

dairy trial

The time has come to trial dairy with Mateo. Over the past few days, he's eaten several things with milk in them, with no reaction whatsoever! Today is day 1. I gave him an ounce of reconstituted powdered milk (non-fat) in his bottle of rice milk. He will continue to get an ounce for the week, and then we'll up it. We chose powdered milk over formula due to his corn intolerance. Plus my Mom started me on diary with powdered milk, so...

Mine HATES the zantac. Its getting to the point where he is spitting it back out at us. He's been on it for about a month now. We've seen no real difference. He won't take it straight and if we mix it with the bottle he won't take the bottle. We're lucky if we can get it in him a few min before a feeding. We were not told to wait x amount of time before or after.

I have looked up sandifers in the past and that seems more of a spasm - this is just a stiff body - hard to explain lol.

Sorry in advance for the hijack...
Lorelei - Cascadian Farms Os (the ones with Clifford on the box) are the most meltable O's out there, almost as much so as the puffs. No rice in them. You can break them up into small pieces and try those. Remind me again, is Roland okay with soy or have you not trialed it yet?

Just wanted to share with you guys that Selah was admitted to the hospital yesterday for RSV. Her WBC was 26,000, really elevated, but her chest x-ray wasn't as bad as they thought it should be considering her RSV screen came back positive. So they admitted her for observation and drew a bunch of tests. They have blood cultures pending to rule out sepsis in her blood to make sure that's not ...

We had 2 bad experiences with probiotics so we gave up. Maybe wait and try a smaller dose. For some odd reason my MSPI+ baby reacted to even the dairy-free probiotic.

It does help- thank you for responding! I'm a bit perplexed that the ENT would suggest the allergy testing because of concerns about a milk allergy since it sounds like that wouldn't necessarily show up. Am I reading correctly? It's late, and DS is off schedule thanks to a family trip, so I'm not quite with it right now :)
Interestingly enough, DS does have eczema, although that didn't ...

If she's happy and seemingly content, I think she might just be comfortable now and not need to eat more and more to wash the acid down.

Have you checked out the information on the blog on mspi? If he's having issue with dairy, it's likely the protein that he's reacting to and not the lactose. In that case, the sensitive won't be helful b/c it's just reduced lactose, but still has whole dairy proteins. I'd very strongly encourage a formula change to Similac Alimentum or Enfamil Nutramigen. It's also very possible for the alcohol ...

I think the formula trial while pumping is a great idea. I did this, too. While I ended up on Neocate only, I am sure many more moms were able to resume BF'ing. Good luck!!

Well we had a tough time getting prego with ODD and she was mspi/reflux/apnea/etc. BUT, DS was almost too easy - like we had just decided to start trying and 2 weeks later there was a positive pink line:) And he was 10x worse than ODD.

Are you giving the Prevacid in 2 doses? Are you giving 30 minutes before a meal on an empty stomach? Are you spacing Prevacid and Zantac 4 hours apart? Prevacid needs to be dosed 2x (just split the solutab in half) because babies metabolize quicker and need to be dosed twice for adequate coverage.
Sounds like you have a very proactive Ped and GI on your hands. Be thankful!
Give the Elecare...

Ummm....no clue! Haha. You seem like the expert here, IMO.
BUT, I do have one question for you that I meant to ask when I posted my thread in the Nov09 board. What does a mucousy poop look like or an acidic poop? Or what are some poop signs to look for. I've noticed bright red bottoms when they have poopy dipes but I've always managed to change them immediately so they have no chance to ...

Allergy testing before 2 years+ isn't reliable in the least. And if you're having GI reactions/issues, allergy testing won't tell you a thing. Allergy testing looks for IgE (skin, visible) reactions as where GI problems are IgG. Really, if you have any kind of GI reaction, just cut it out and try again later.
