I agree follow up w/ your ped so the proper tests can be done remember er doctors aren't child specialists and can overlook things.

Maybe it would help to impose more meaningful consequences - i.e., instead of losing a favorite toy, your DD has *all* toys removed from her room for a set period of time (say, 2 weeks), and then after that time period *if* her behavior improves then she can earn them back.? Same with TV, having friends over, etc.? For a couple of weeks, she lives like an inmate.? No luxuries of any kind.? Food, shelter, clothing.? Maybe that sounds harsh to...

It doesn't sound normal at all, and I would definitely follow up with your pedi, but unless your pedi is concerned, I wouldn't freak out to the extent of making an appt with a neurologist or anything. Take it in stride, because dehydration can definitely cause fainting, and you didn't mention any other abnormal behavior (twitching, strange movements, any sort of spell), so it could absolutely be something like that.

There is nothing wrong with your pediatrician prescribing steriods.? They have a lot of really good, beneficial purposes in medicine.? But, we hear so much about them with athletes abusing them that we think they are bad. There is a lot of good and bad information on the internet.? If you aren't getting it from a reputable medical source (Mayo Clinic, American Academy of Pediatrics, etc), I would be skeptical. Last year, I found a...

I guarantee you that she'll start taking it if she gets hungry enough. Sounds like you've done everything you can to try to ease her into it, all you can really do now is just leave her with the various people when you need to, and keep positive. She will either accept a bottle from them, or have a massive nursing session with you at night :p

Well in my opinion, there is no solution.? Sorry. But she is to the age where she now realizes you are gone.? She will grow out of it before you know it.? My son did this for awhile with me and then a few months later wouldn't cry when I would leave but cried when my husband would.? But now he could care less if we leave the room, unless he's in a grumpy mood!?

If it tastes icky, maybe he'll stop licking his lips! I use Vaseline when I go to bed at night. My 4 y/o has started putting it on herself too, but sh used GOBBS of it. My LB uses Mentholatum, which I think smells better, but doesn't work as good.

i think it is very important that you sit down with the parents and stress how important it is for the child to (i) be in a constant familiar place (as much as possible) and (ii) to have a routine.  there are tons of research you can do on-line to back this up.  they need to determine where the child is going to live while they are away and stop transferring him around the family.  yes, it may ...

LOVE IT LOVE IT LOVE IT. I seriously, should be the advertising person for that spoon, because after I bought it to use with my LO, I told EVERYBODY that I knew to get it and bought one for every single one of my sisters. It doesn't leak at all, even if you fill it with water, and it's SO much easier than spoons and dishes of food and all that. It's SO great for when you're at restaurants. Glad ...

My 6 month old (4 month old corrected age preemie) has recently begun to rub his upper gums uncontrollably.  I am assuming this is a sign of the beginning of teething.  However, I am unable to alleviate his pain because he is not grabbing toys yet, therefore he is inable to hold the soothing teething rings and toys.  My ped told me not to use teething gel/ ambesol so I am confused as to what I ...

Law is 20lbs and 1 year of age but new studies show that it is best to have rear facing until 2 yo.   At this age they may be tall enough and weigh enough but their little bodies are not strong enough to deal with a collision while forward facing.  Think about what happens to your neck when you stop fast...their neck muscles are not strong enough to handle that kind of force.  While rear facing ...

So, does this mean that my daughter is going to grow up gay because she calls her push-cart a truck and makes the vroom sound when she pushes it around? Tell your parents that they can bring this topic back up when you buy him a pink fluffy tutu and crystal-studded tiara. Helping fold the laundry and playing with toy food is not even CLOSE to "gender bending".

Never used them.  Used baby orajel once and DD HATED that too (I mean have you ever put that on your gums..eww).  My friend said that the tablets didn't work for her LO, so I didn't want to try them w/mine.  I just give her tylenol and lots of thing to chew on. Yay for teething!

Oh, I use it on myself all the time.  I think it's the best for chapped lips.  I actually prefer it to regular chap stick when I'm at home.  Just make sure you only use a little bit.  I've used it on ODS and DS every day, sometimes multiple times.

Well I don't know about the uterus shrinking or anything like that really but when your milk comes in your breasts will just be hard and really sore probably.  They will also leak some.  Just go to the drug store and get some breast pads to stick in your bra for the leaking.  I also was told to keep a bra on when sleeping and everything because that makes them feel better, so I did that.  Plus ...

We started doing the peek-a-boo game where we would go around the corner and pop back in her view after a couple of seconds and then eventually add to the time between popping in and out of view and before too long she wasnt bothered when it took a little bit for me to come back into view. Works great when I have to make a quick trip to the bathroom.
