Aw, I went through this with Kenny. His jaundice was VERY atypical and lasted until he was 12+ weeks old. It was very disturbing, they did not know if it was a kidney issue, but eventually he got better (very slowly) -just hang in there!

I actually posted a note on facebook (because I'm a wuss) about how I didn't want any visitors at my house until I had had at least a week to settle in, and further stated that I would NOT be accepting visitors who had any cold or flu symptoms. I will also have masks and hand sanitizer here. Can't be too careful :)

Contractions???
Published (2009-11-07 00:04:30)
Bleh, I thought for sure mine where the real deal last night. They were 7 mins apart and awful when I went to bed. Had them all night long, woke up so many times. When I woke up they were 5 mins apart, but then stopped...? Now I keep getting the random one. So much worse then braxton hicks! Like my worst menstrual cramp where I just have to rock back and forth... Maybe tomorrow.

Here's a question for you...

valerian root.. it's a muscle relaxant and it's natural and safe. ?i had to take it (as per my midwife, of course) when i was having pre-term labor contractions at 28 weeks. also, not only should you be drinking all that water but emptying your bladder as often as possible. ?that will dilute the hormone in your blood stream triggering the contractions.

Going for the Castor Oil
Published (2009-11-06 17:26:57)
Good luck! I mixed 2 oz (4 tbs) with about 3 oz of frozen orange juice concentrate, and the second dose, I mixed the remaining 2 oz with 4 oz applesauce. If you can't get that down, maybe try one of those methods because it was actually tolerable. Oh and maybe run out and get some aloe toilet paper or wipes because if it does the same thing to you, your butthole is going to be crying for mercy in a little while.

Nope... well not for me it didnt work. I was 5 days over with my DD and had sex everyday for those 5 days and the 5 days before she came and NOTHING. My brother and his girlfriend did it on her due date and 6 hours later the baby was here. You have a 50/50 chance so you might as well have fun trying.. LOL

I'm having my csection tomorrow and will also have a tubal. My SIL had lots of ovary cramping with her tubal.  I would definitely talk to the doctor or push them to take it seriously.

I second the advice about Valerian Root for mild anxiety/sleeplessness.  I haven't heard/read anything bad about it but always check.  Another one that might help with anxiety is St. Johns Wort, but I have heard some negative info on that for use during pregnancy, not sure how/if that would apply to nursing.  Please check with the doc before taking either of these, my only experience with these ...

I have been in and out of the hospital with high bp this past week. One of the times I had a failed induction. The only way I was able to go home was if my BP was under 140/90 3 times in a row. Maybe this will help? My normal is 100/60 throughout pregnancy up until this last week. Am now on bed rest and just waiting to HOPEFULLY go naturally. The failed induction was horrendous!

This one is still in my belly, but I have had a baby about the same amount of time earlier than normal as you and I understand how you are feeling. Our closest NICU is 60 miles from home and it wasn't feasible for me to stay with her 24/7. It was hell. I'm sorry you're going through this.

I do plan on cicumsizing him but we dont have the money as of right now to get it done. Tax money will be paying for that as long as the peditrician will do it.

Im currently still measuring small (& due on Wednesday!)  I've had ultrasounds weekly for the past month.  Some of the things they checked for me will probably be done for you! A doppler--- to check the blood flow between you and baby, bpp-  physiological profile to check fluid levels and a growth scan where they take measurements of baby's skull, abdomen, bones.  My LO was only about 5lb 10oz ...

I'm also 38 weeks today and getting very impatient!!! I'm 1cm dilated and 60% effaced as of last thursday. Unlike you ladies I haven't really been having any BH or contractions. Just lots of cramps. :( But increased discharge for sure. I'm really wanting this baby to come on her own before we start talking induction!
