Molar before incisor??
Published (2009-12-09 16:15:16)
DS has all 4 top and 4 bottom, 2 top molars and the incisors are not even close.

how much cows milk?
Published (2009-12-09 14:11:07)
My ped said 12-14 ozs and no more than that for those exact reasons. She said their nutrition should come from foods and they would rather fill up on milk because it's easier to drink and play than to sit down and eat.

Chiropractor for ear infections?
Published (2009-12-09 11:25:20)
I work at a chiropractor and my DD gets adjusted from time to time.? We use the Activator Method which is a lot more gentle then hands on adjustments.? You can research it at activatormethods.com My DD is very healthy, she does get ear infections but it's common at this age.? It can't hurt, and if you think about it, their spines go through a lot at this age, so it might as well get straight and healthy!

what's the deal with milk...
Published (2009-12-09 12:23:33)
I believe it can only contribute to anemia if their little intestines are still not ready for it. I'm not sure if this is still a consideration-perhaps some of the other moms know? As to iron- will she eat beans? We feed Poe lots of beans, and I've found that adding spinach to other things (like pasta, omlettes, etc..) is a great way to sneak in more iron. There are vitamin drops that supplement iron, so if you can't get more...

Bedtime
Published (2009-12-09 14:14:05)
My DS goes down for the night around 8 p.m most nights. He usually sleeps until 6:30/7 a.m. He takes one long nap around 1 1/2 - 2 hours in the morning and then sometimes a 30 minute nap in the afternoon. Sometimes he falls asleep in the car on the way home from Grandma's in the afternoon but I try not to let him do that because that's usually around 6/6:30 p.m. that we're driving home and then he doesn't want to go to bed...

Do you make a 'hot'...
Published (2009-12-09 08:16:27)
No. My boys get toast, cereal or oatmeal (instant). Their choice. Plus fruit and yogurt. I'm barely awake enough for that in the mornings. We make good breakfasts on weekends - homemade pancakes, etc.

Busy Ball Popper $14.99
Published (2009-12-08 22:28:54)
Put weak batteries in it and the balls don't go crazy! My LO wanted nothing to do with it, then the batteries started to wear down and now he loves it.

Tantrums - how dramatic?
Published (2009-12-09 13:14:40)
DS isn't too overly dramatic, but he has stomped his feet, which I laughed hysterically at and that actually made him laugh and made him forget about whatever he was mad at!? haha.? When he's trapped in the living room and I'm in the kitchen, he will stand at the gate and scream.. not cry, but yell.. it's funny, in a way, because he'll yell and then look at me to see what I do, then yell again.. but annoying because...

Winter coats
Published (2009-12-06 00:00:00)
DS has a normal winter coat made out of waterproof material, fleece liner, but no extra padding. He has a hat and mittens to match. As for the carseat, now that it is cold enough that he really needs the coat and not just a jacket I will be unzipping it and putting the straps inside. The back of the coat alone is not thick enough that we would have to adjust the straps.

Have you ever checked out Jessica Seinfeld's cookbook "Deceptively Delicious"? I don't own it but I've seen her on some talk shows giving exapmles. All of her recipes are exaclty what you're looking for.

The doc says he should get 16oz of whole milk.
I don't measure it, but I am sure he gets close. He gets juice at snack time and the boy eats like a horse at every meal. We are switching to water in a sippy if he wakes up at night (off the bottle and off formula). Every baby/toddler is different so you just have to go with your mommy intuition!

My LO had oatmeal mixed with whole milk and a clementine for breakfast today. She had cheese, blueberries, goldfish crackers, a few bites of my chicken, and a taste of ice cream for lunch. For dinner, I'll probably give her a veggie burger and some green bean pieces, some yogurt, and grapes cut into pieces. She doesn't drink whole milk straight yet, so I'm trying to sneak in a lot of calcium...

I do know the drops are an alternative to patching but I dont think they can "fix" his eyes. Of course now that I am home I have more questions...we get his glasses Friday I believe and go back in 2 months.
Thanks I will try and do a search in a bit.

That's usually how they come in. The 4 front teeth then the molars then the incisors.

We had the same problem (LO on Nutramigen, then Gentlease, then regular formula, then whole milk). I mixed the formula and milk for a while. It eventually worked itself out. In the meantime, lots of the "p" fruits and a little juice should help.

Ezra is allergic to milk so he has been on Soy milk since 1 (11/5), he typically goes 3-4 times a day ranging from yellowish to green and it smells so nasty.I am not sure on how many my older daughter used to have at that age, she was on cow milk. There is a 50% chance of being allergic to Soy if you have milk allergy, and there is a 90% chance of being allergic to Goat milk if you are allergic ...

What about a train table instead? More pricey, but he would probably get more use out of it as he grows up. Costco has a nice one for $169 and BJ's has two, one for $77 and one for $99

It's tough with their birthdays so close to Christmas.. The only thing I've bought DS so far are some wooden puzzles (he doesn't have any of these yet).. But, then I've got everyone else asking what they can get him. My brother bought him a snow suit and bath toys. I'm at a loss after that.

Not to totally alarm you, but that is an odd behavior, usually seen in those that fall into the autistic spectrum. You probably should get a second opinion, your son could seriously hurt himself.

That's hillarious. Jeez she's practically purple. And Santa's just sitting there smiling when it reality he's probably thnking "I need another job." We saw santa in the mall the day we went to get DS's one year pics done at sears and there was no line. I wanted to get the pic taken with Santa but I think one photo shoot was good for the day. We may go this weekend.

Our Ped says that we can give a little Benedryl to help with the mucus not running down his throat at night- when he is really bad it really helps him dry out.. They will give you the correct dosage for his age and weight!

I would have your Dr check to see if he has an ear infection. That is the same way my daughter acts when she gets one. She doesn't seem to have any symptoms during the day, no tugging on the ear, no fever, just wakes up crying in the middle of the night and nothing seems to soothe her. Keep us updated!

Kaylin- Ya I hear it does something to boys more often?? Maybe if I had a boy I would feel different. My opinion completely changed once I saw my DD, I just would never want anything to happen to her, which could go either way on the no vax or the vax, just how we look at it KWIM? It looks like you've been through a lot with your kids, I can't even imagine going through it.

I voted yes just because as they grow older you can explain to your child that thank you notes tell people that you appriciate their gift so much that you had to thank them again in writing. I always had to send thank you notes when i got a gift and if i didnt then next year i didnt get a gift from that person. Its nice to recieve a card no matter how young about how much the child loved their ...

Honestly, I probably wouldn't be able to be friends with people that hit their infants. Or if I did manage to maintain a friendship, it would have to be without kids - do only adult activities with them and not playdates, etc. Because I wouldn't want my kids exposed to that (threatening or talking about or actually hitting their children). I don't need my kids to know that some mommies hit their...

Wow that is cheap compared to what I pay! We are in Massachusetts so everything is over priced. Our DD goes to an in home day care, so it's very personal and a lot of one on one, we love it. We pay $11 an hour so at the end of the week it ends up being about $300 with our work hours.
I think that is a great price, especially for a nanny and especially for 2 kids! Can you imagine if we ...
