I don't, but I wanted to get the Little People one. You can order them online at Fisher Price. I've seen them at Family Christian stores. They also have other child friendly ones there :-)

Help! Waking up at 5am now!
Published (2009-12-03 00:00:00)
DD has always gotten up around 5 or 5:30.? Occationally I'll get lucky and she sleeps through the night.? But I just let her climb into bed with us and she goes back to sleep with some coaxing.? Sometimes she needs a diaper change first. But every now and then, she doesn't want to sleep and she walks on my bed stepping on me and DH and sitting on my face.

I certainly don't think it is OWED to children. But, at the same time, I do think it can be a wonderful gift. I am INCREDIBLY thankful that my parents paid for college (tuition and room & board -- it was out of state). Like another poster, I paid for all my?own personal expenses, spending money, etc. But, essentially, undergrad was paid for. I always assumed I would go to college, but it wasn't a requirement in my family (my...

She touches the ornaments, but I have the sturdy balls at the bottom so it doesn't matter.? And she is being so gentle with them.? I am shocked, I thought she would be all over it, esp since it's in her play room (which happens to be our living room but with the move we can't afford furniture so we just filled it with toys!)

I personally would approach it from the standpoint of "wow, so much has changed just in the last couple years--I am so amazed at all the changes in car seat recommendations!? Did you know that the biggest cause of injuries and death in car accidents is not this whole RF versus FF issue, even though that is really serious, but in fact it is actually that approximately 80% of car seats in America are used incorrectly?? I just read that one...

That's awesome they have a daycare.? I don't think our ski area has anything like that. If you have it that easy, I'd totally get him some skis and give it a try.?

Since I am the one that gets up with him, it's usually "mama" or I hear him talking to himself or hitting the wall. Once I go in it's either one of these orall three: ?"dinkie" (he recently learned how to say Binky) and points to the Binky in his mouth. "dada" (if Dh goes in DS says Mama) Milk and most recently "hun" (sun) and choo choo (he's recently obsessed with trains)

And just to add - no I don't think we owe it to them. I think of it as a gift, and if they start feeling entitled to it, then they won't get it.

LOL Charissa, I might try that.? He will walk over and look at the tree, touch a few things, maybe take one off, and carry it around for a while.? All the fragile things are at the top.

In my world and experience parents should both encourage AND enable kids to go to college.
It was never an option for me NOT to go to college, although I did take a year and a half off to travel solo through Europe for three months and work FT in Boston b/f finishing school.
DH's parents did not encourage or enable him to go to college--he didn't even take his SATs b/c he didn't want ...

Ds has been waking up again too. Anywhere between 11:30 and 1:30. The other night, when he woke up, I actually listend to him what his was saying in his sobs. He was saying "No, No, No, No." So I think that he is dreaming. He will go right back down, usually, but if not, he cries for a bottle. We've been giving him a bottle with water in it, sometimes he'll drink it and sometimes not. But he ...

Let him cry. At this point, I dont really see what else you could do. It will pass. It will probably take a week, maybe 2. But if you don't do it, you'll just be continuing this way.
Also, don't put your 5 week old in your bed and you'll never have to deal with this with him. I have a 6 year old a 4 year old and a 21 month old. They co-slept with us until 4-6 weeks. After that ...

The only thing James has destroyed has been a package of taco seasoning. He sucked it to death when he was a little younger. As wild as he is though, I am sure the list will get longer.

Well I'm not sure what to tell you here entirely. I do know that frustration is one cause of lashing out, but with my DD she will do things like that I think just to see what will happen sometimes too.
She hits me, DH, and her big sister. She'll sometimes hit the dog and the cats too if they stick around long enough to let her. She can't hit very hard though. She pinches hard....that hurts! ...

It depends. DH is in charge of the morning routine. He gets up with the girls in the morning, changes diapers, and feeds them breakfast. Sometimes he dresses them but usually not. So he has that 1.5-2 hours in the morning. Then he usually gets home from work just in time to read them bedtime stories, so another 30ish minutes.
Of course this time can go down to nothing depending on his ...

Emily has a Rodi...it's a bouncy horse. It says 3 plus so we only let her use it if we are right there (we moved it to grandmas for that reason). But it is a GREAT toy!

Good Luck! It took almost 2.5 years to get my DD. I had undiagnosed hypothyroidism. Right when I started seeing a specialist and had HSG done it happened. I started taking meds for my thyroid not too long after I got pregnant with her. Have you had a check-up lately?

I was going to wait until DD trained herself. I gave in and started yesterday. She just wouldn't stop wiggling all over the place for diaper changes. She just sat there yesterday and didn't do anything. So far today she did 2 pees and a poop. We time her every hour. Or if she runs to the bathroom door, I sit her down on her potty. I still have her in diapers and she has gone in them too today if...

I get flack about BFing and especially for BFing for a year. My MIL thinks it is selfish because nobody else gets to feed the baby. My cousins and aunts stick their noses up about it because they don't want to feel badly about their choice to FF (in my opinion).
Then there is my no juice rule. Everyone treats me like I am depriving my child of some natural right because I won't let him ...
