Christmas tree???
Published (2009-11-08 12:55:00)
Our couch is on an angle in the corner of the lving room, so we are getting a real tree (I can just cut it down from behind my house) and we'll pull out the couch a bit so it can fit in the corner behind it and be difficult to reach. We are also only going to have lights and Salvation Army ornaments on it.

We have an artificial tree. I think this year we will forgo the glass ball ornamets because DS is super curious and has very sticky hands! I think he will be fine, although I'm sure we'll have to redirect

Julia - Thanks for the tip!!!? We have been thinking we wanted the Baby Jogger City Elite, but are having a hard time justifying $600 for a stroller.? I may jump on this deal though.? That's an awesome price for a Baby jogger.? We have the Baby Jogger bike trailer and just love it.? All of our biking friends drool over it and my most frequent biking partner jokes about "Riley's limosine"

A fitted sheet, a baby blanket, a small tag blankie and a teddy bear.? We did only a fitted sheet till about 15 months and added the other things one at a time.? She never goes near the blanket, but she will hug tag blankie or the bear now and then.

Any ideas for birthday #2?

I didn't realize how close to two they are getting! This thread shocked me! I am 100% sure this will be a small dinner with possibly her one friend over. Most of the people we know just got moved away and we have no family here. I'm due with her little brother two days after her birthday so that will be the best present for her! (and so I guess family might be here?) We'll see, nothing big though. I like celebrating but not...

I guess I don't buy into the big birthday bash...particularly annually. I think of birthdays as being a small, family thing. With, a few bigger celebrations per life. For DS's first, I made an angel food cake w/a fresh strawberry center, and fresh homemade whipped cream. We had dinner with our best friends and MIL, who was in town. Of course, he enjoyed it. I can't imagine we will do anything larger this year. I don't...

Last year we did it in our town's community center. Its just a little building with a kitchen and some long tables so it worked out perfect for the 40 or so guests we had. This year I'm probably doing the same thing, though not sure because hopefully we will be in a house by then (cross your fingers for me!) but we're decorating in Sesame Street. I always like to figure out what I'm decorating in super early because that...

yeah, I was like that with both of my pregnancies.  Thankfully toward the end it wasn't as bad as in the beginning but it stayed with me until they were born.

Someone recommended sambucol to me for coughs and respiratory issues... They get it at www.vitacost.com  which has many other elderberry things available as well. I still haven't tried it myself.

We've had a real tree every year and I have never done anything differently than before we had kids. I simply firmly enforced the rule "no touch". A few timeouts later and DD had the point. We don't have too many very firm no's in the house, so when we have one... the kids know we mean business. Cheryl

This is a good question, I"m interested in the answer too! We got an ear thermometer as a present, and it even will say a different temperature depending on which ear it is in!  I don't even bother with it anymore.  I was told that the rectal temperature is always 1 degree higher than anywhere else (ear, mouth) so that 100 was OK.

OMG I know exactly how you feel!  I know a few people like that, a few of them I'm pregnant with now. "I felt the baby kicking at 10 weeks!"  Really?  Because I think your baby is the size of like.. a grape. "I found out it was a boy at 12 weeks!" Seriously?  Because I'm pretty sure your ultrasound tech did NOT find a distinctive sex by then. I don't understand what the infatuation is with ...

The humidifier is good. Do you have one with vics menthol vapors? Those are great! I usually get it started about a half hour before bedtime so that the room is totally medicated! It smells great! I also do a warm vapor bath before bed. J&J has soothing vapor bath bubbles. It's green. And I'll also do saline before bed. Get a good nose blown, and rub baby vics in his chest. All of these steps ...

I put every other day, but honestly sometimes it's even less than that.  I really just give him one when he needs it, so sometimes he may go 2 days without.  I'm in the desert (Utah) and it doesn't make sense to waste the water unless it's necessary.

Once or twice a day (in the potty thank goodness!) and pretty normal looking.  He has one large mole on his butt:).  He was born with it.  Remember the first time I saw it...he was in NICU and we hadn't been able to really look him over...first time we changed his diaper and there it was.

We recently bought the Whirlpool duet set and we love it!  It is energy-efficient and we got nearly $250 in rebates from the water and electric company just for buying them.  The washer has several cycle options including a sanitary cycle which is great for cloth diapering or towels.  They both run very quietly which was important to me.  I don't remember how much they were exactly, but I think ...
