Right now the hot item is her baby stroller - she loves to put her baby dolls in there and push them around. ?We also got her a little foam princess chair from walmart and she LOVES it. The Little People are a big hit too!? We got her a toy kitchen...couldn't tell you if she likes it or not...it's for xmas and we haven't put it up.

Worry? Stopped making a cat sound.

I wouldn't worry either. Also, just because he's not saying it doesn't mean that he forgot. I used to ask DD what a cow says and she would say "Moo'. Now she doesn't but occasionally she'll randomly say, "Cow, moo" so I know that she still remembers but she won't say it when I prompt her. She probably just got tired of me asking LOL.

What an ass. I second this. Family arguements are always so incredibly petty. I've seen my fair share and it's always someone who doesn't agree with what someone else does with THEIR life which has NO effect on the person who's upset. I hope you guys can all get it worked out. And I hope your sister can make her husband come to his senses. ? BTW, Michele, you made me giggle @ " where does Jack get off?" I read it...

No way!
But, my mom has children still in the house (4 of my younger siblings were all born after I left for college) and they are very disrespectful. It makes me insane. I think some of it is that my mom has gotten lazy and some of it is that the kids see more *sassy* language/behavior on tv and so forth.
I remember when I was in labor and so miserable. My husband said, "if this kid ever ...

i haven't heard anything, and come to think of it, can't remember if i did delivery confirmation! i did put my return address and haven't gotten them back, so who knows. we weren't watching them anyway, so if we never get our refund we won't be out anything, but it would be nice to get it!! i'm sure they have a TON of refunds to process so i wouldn't be surprised if it took 8 weeks to hear ...

If he is capable of communicating clearly that he needs to go, then go for it.
Let him just sit on the potty chair dressed... you know, hang out with you while you are in there.
I wouldn't push it- they will do it on their own time.
Then you can start taking off his clothes and letting him try going.
With my daughter, we took the chair everywhere... so it was in the living room, ...

Now I'm crying. That is the saddest thing ever. LO is looking at me like I'm crazy. I'll get down to the storage room today to get the lights. Thanks for posting that, even though you made me cry.

Think about THE CLASSICS... stuff they can use forever... these are the things that can be used in so many creative ways. My older boys still used basic stuff like this when they're playing and building stuff...
Wooden blocks
Legos/Duplos
Tinker Toys or Lincoln Logs (obviously watch for small parts)...
Plastic shopping carts or doll strollers
Play kitchen or food items
Dress ...

We are the same here. I've tried milk out of different sippys and out of cups. She always gives me a confused look that says "Are you nuts ?don't you know milk doesn't come from a cup?". Our pedi said the same, just that we need to work on getting rid of the bottle by two years. I'll keep trying, figure she'll want to drink from a big girls cup soon enough.

normal range for first words is 12-18 months. does he do any signs? if so, those count as words. does he understand some of what you say? also a good sign. try not to worry too much - boys are notoriously slower talkers and there's plenty of time for him to get it. at his 18 month checkup if he still has no words, your ped may recommend taking him for an evaluation for language delay - there are...

bad idea. Food on teeth over night equals cavities. Nope I wouldn't do it, yes very odd. Along the lines of, have you ever seen the old time potty chairs, they had straps and a bar that went in front of them. Got me to thinking no wonder kids peed early in the potty, you strapped them there.

OMG I though we were cured at 12 months but I was wrong. We had to get Cooper script filled again. It isn't as bad but some days he will spit up and then goes for weeks before he does it again. I have noticed it is worse when he is teething! He did it this mornin. I guess it is something he will battle for awhile.

I think it's both.... but being frustrated doesn't give us license to speak that way to our kids. We ALL know frustration... but we're the adults and we need to handle ourselves accordingly.
I'd just try to talk to DH, obviously not tonight.... but tomorrow when the frustration is not so fresh. Just let him know that those words bothered you. And maybe next time it'd be better for him to...

I'll be the first to admit, I'm probably of a generation where "overparenting" began. I'm 24 years old and my parents were very involved in every aspect of my life. I was a kid who was enrolled in karate lessons at 2.5 years old, dance at 3, music lessons at 5, etc. We had a schedule and a routine. We weren't allowed to do sleepovers, or play outside alone. My mom was a class-parent. She ...

I'm pretty sure DS pretends play when I give him a spoon and plate and he pretends to mix things in there and feed me even though there is nothing in the plate. Iam trying to think of other instances but I am not sure.

BOB is insanely expensive!
I have a Baby Trend Jogger and I LOVE it! Looks comfy for LO, folds up easily, has bike tires (easy to pump up) manuevers great, and is only around $110.
