Hand Sanitizer
Published (2009-11-14 00:00:00)
I don't use hand sanitizer on my LOs, only soap and water or a wet wipe. The wet wipe solution I use has Tea Tree Oil which is a natural antibacterial/antifungal oil. In the last meeting that I attended at the hospital, they mentioned that they were removing the hand sanitizer from patient's rooms and placing them outside the doors. In their hospital chain (which is several major hospitals throughout the midwest) they had a couple...

Anyone have a Hyundai Santa Fe?
Published (2009-11-14 00:00:00)
We found a demo one today - 2009 with 2,300 miles, silver, grey interior.? We really wanted leather, but it jacks up the price so much so we're not doing it.? Anyway, with all the rebates and stuff I can get it for about $22K, but we're a few K upside down on my car... Who has one? Do you like it? I loved driving it.... Anything you don't like about it?? How much did you pay for yours?

Could I be pregnant?

It was awful. I hate hate hate to vomit. I would seriously rather have a cold for a week than the stomach flu for one day. I hope you are neither pregnant nor about to get sick!

I found mine through an area parents' guide because it was voted Parents' Choice by them several times.? We also have friends who have their daughter in the same program (she is in the preschool now, but started in the same nursery school room Mason was in and Declan will be going to).? You absolutely want one that is state licensed.? Ours has been in operating for 40 years now, and the boys can attend all the way through middle...

OCD!
Published (2009-11-13 00:00:00)
I'm not OCD but here's what we do. Right now, during flu season (and rainy season), we aren't really going to the park or play areas. When we do, he gets hand sanitizer afterwards. There's no way of knowing what germs are on those toys. As far as grocery carts, we either do shopping together (DH and I), and DS goes in his stroller, or if I have to do it alone, or his stroller isn't feasible, we sanitize the cart with...

IT's really tough. Just know you are not alone and you are not a loser! Our whole country is experiencing bad times and there are so many people in your boat. Not that it makes your situation any easier, but hopefully you will stop feeling like a loser.

One nap later in the morning works best for us because if LO sleeps too late in the afternoon then it is harder to put him to bed at night.

I got them done at three months. I pondered it for a long time because I was scared of the risk of infection. My mother was SO against it too...so I had to work up the courage to do it (I know, I'm not a little girl anymore, but still want moms approval for some reason).
My mom made me wait until I was 12 and I wanted earrings for so long. I hated it. So, I guess I did the opposite because ...

Ethan did not crawl until 9 mos and rolled over for the first time when he started crawling! He walked at 11 mos.
What does her ped say? Does she really like to walk with the stoller or is there something that she really likes...enough to try to to take a couple of steps all by herself? Try putting something just out of her reach and see what happens. If she can walk with assistance I'd ...

aww Michele. GL hon. Going back to work is soooo hard. I plan to take 3 months off after this lil one is born. My boss is giving me grief about it too. I hope everything works out good for you with work. I hope they don't kick your butt too hard.
I also am praying for your great aunt. I hope everything works out for the best for her. It is so hard. I was almost 31 the first time I ...

That is really scary! I'm glad you called 911. If you hadn't been successful in getting the phlem loose, they would have helped you while the ambulance came.
I've never had to call 911 for my kids, but I did once when I was younger and my brother bumped his head in the bath and started bleeding. It's scary to see all the blood coming from a tiny cut on a head wound! By the time they got to ...

Can't you just move the plate out of his reach? I don't suggest spanking. He is still learning and just curious! We always eat at the table and DS sits in his chair so he can't reach our plates.

I was on Reglan from the time my son was 2 months to 12 months. What a mistake... I felt so pressured to do what was best for my son that I didn't think of myself.
I knew the risks of depression but took it anyway. After a few months I was put on antidepressants. Up until that point I felt terrible, I was afraid to leave the house without my dh. I always felt like something bad was going to ...

Hi Sam! Good job on all the cleaning! I just ran around doing some errands this morning/afternoon but now I'm back home and we have no plans. DH is watching the game and playing with DD.
I'm not the best cook so sorry, I don't have any suggestions. We made BBQ chicken last night so we're using the left overs to make chicken quesadillas tonight.

I switched DD #1 at 18 months and it was a big mistake for us. so with #2 we waited until after 2 yo. and it was much better. with Easton we will wait as long as we can. he hasn't tried to climb out yet so we will wait as long as we can

We are in the same boat as you. We are just going to have our one DD b/c honestly that's all we can afford right now. I don't dwell on it though, it is what it is. I was not an only child, but my closest sibling in age is 8 years apart. So, it was like at times that I was the only child. I just try to savor every moment w/her. All you can do is that and explain to them later on why we ...

I didn't vote b/c DS says no and even shakes his head when appropriate. He knows what it means but he doesn't say it a lot. He says it when he doesn't want something. We don't say it a lot either.

Coloring and reading are life savers at this age. My son would color pictures for hours and my daughter will read magazines over and over.
I personal favorite of mine is play groups, or even going to an indoor playland like at the mall. It is killing me with all the germs around right now that I can't trust other parents to not bring sick kids to the playland so we haven't gone lately. I ...
