hot dog question . . .

Hebrew National regular (not the low salt or reduced fat) only have soy of the top 8.? Anything kosher won't have dairy in it.? Many hot dogs have "modified food starch" which may or may not have wheat and doesn't have to be labeled as such.

My son is around your daughter's age. We sometimes feed him ground meat broken into chunks and browned in a little saute pan. It's quick to cook, easy to chew, and not as processed as hot dogs or chicken nuggets. He also happily eats thinly sliced meat if we have leftovers from a chop or a roast. We can't do soy, but I have friends whose kids like cubes of tofu. We offer yogurt most everyday, so if you have a safe yogurt you...

Egg, Milk, Soy free dinner rolls?

Yeah, my grandmother for the past 10 years refuses to cook without butter. I have asked and pleaded, and given up... I just bring all the food I know my ODS won't be able to have at her house because frankly I don't trust her... even when she says she doesn't butter stuff, I think she does. The kicker is that everyone over there GETS OFFENDED that I have to prepare food for him and serve it separately. It's really...

Vaccine reaction
Published (2009-11-29 00:00:00)
There is bovine casein in one brand of the DTAP--I think you have to call the company directly to find out though. I have heard of dairy allergic kiddos reacting to it. ? My son had an ana reaction to the HIB vaccine--not sure what set it off. Some vaxes also have latex stoppers, which can contaminate the vaccine. ?So if you have a latex allergy, that is another possibility. We get our vaxes one at a time also. ? ?

I guess he does have a sunflower seed allergy, hard way to find out. ?Dumb move on my part. ?He has a slew of food allergies, including peanut and tree nut. ?I was just looking for something to add to his limited diet. ?My allergist hasn't given any guidance besides 'if you think he's allergic to something, then don't give it to him' and 'this kid doesn't have a food allergy problem, he has an eczema...

My son is one and has reacted to every food we've ever fed him. He's at about week 4 of Diflucan treatment and is doing the best we've ever seen. His eczema is almost gone and we're hoping he'll be able to start eating food soon. We start LDA (the link is in the last post) in 2 weeks. I've been reassured by a number of practitioners that it's incredibly safe and very effective. I'll let you all know how...

almonds are *sort of* tree nuts.  They are actually a closer relative to the apricot though.  They are truly a fruit pit. You should get your LO tested specifically for the 4 major "tree nuts".  Walnut, cashew, pecan, and hazelnet.

Sorry, I don't know anything about her symptoms but wanted to say it is possible to have a chicken allergy. DS was allergic to chicken for about 2 years. He has a bad egg allergy and it was technically the egg protein in the chicken. Thankfully, he's outgrown it but just now hates chicken.

Nabisco seems to be great with this.. Thomas (milk, soy, egg and nut allergic) can have Oreos, graham crackers, Teddy Grahams, Saltines, Ginger Snaps, Lorna Doones, etc.. Just check the label to confirm.  He can also have Cheerios, raisins, pretzels, Orville Redenbacker Microwave Natural Popcorn, Super Pretzel Frozen Pretzels, Smart Balance Light Margerine (we bake cookies with it), Enjoy ...

Well since we arrived at our new duty station this summer we've noticed that DD started having a reaction to the chicken tenders at Burger King. Does anyone know if they recently changed how their made? I looked at the allergy menu a long time ago and it said it didnt contain milk and now i just looked and it does now. This really sucks because being overseas BK was our only fast food option ...

Yes! ODS was allergic to peanut, milk, and egg white when he was tested at age 1. At age 3, he was just peanut, the other two were negative and he could eat them both with no problems. He was tested again at 7 and he was peanut, pork, almond, and cashew. Then he was tested a few months ago and is peanut, almond, and cashew. The pork is gone and he is eating it without problems now. The only one...

We haven't had testing yet because they won't do it until she is one.  But from birth on she was a big spitter.  She'd spit up a lot.  She was getting worse and to the point of every morning she'd fill a toddler prefold cloth diaper with vomit.  Then she got to the point of in the middle of nursing she'd stop to vomit then continue.  I got to noticing when the reactions and crankyness were worse...

Hugs!  I was right there with you when odd was little.  She is 4 now and things are so much easier.   It took me sobbing on my parents floor sating that I wasn't going to be able to visit again for them to finally "get it".  My in-laws were actually easier to be around because I have no problem being witchy and stating exactly how things have to be if they wanted to see dd. Unfortunately unless they have a child with FA or have saw a reaction from your child there isn't much else you can do. And I understand.  There are few people I'll leave my infant with.  We have no epipen yet.  Hoping to get one at the next appt.

It's good to know that about Disney. My ODS has the dairy challenge, and that's hard enough to avoid, but this soy thing is killing me! The GI said to just keep pluggin along and to wait a week or two now that I'm sure I'm not drinking that damn tea before removing anything else, and that someday I might be able to try a little dairy. The worst part is, I plan on BFing until he's 18mos-2 ...

My DS reacts severely to one brand and not another that we have tried...  Check for a "shared equiptment" warning!  It had to be WAY more than trace amounts for how my DS reacted that is for sure.   His whole mouth blistered up within minutes...  then hives, eczema, congstion, coughing, and blisteriing anus later on... It might not be the sunflower seeds but whatever is on the shared line ...

Is there a recipe out there that exists and makes rolls that aren't bricks? I'm going nuts here. The Dr suggested I stop eating eggs, nuts, and corn on top of milk, soy, beef, and chocolate... My thanksgiving dinner is really going to blow tomorrow.
