When to try again?

We were first referred to an allergist when my son was a small infant. We see her every few months still. And I have found her to be extremely valuable. For example, we consulted with her about a sensible system and order for introducing solids in light of the foods my son had reacted to through breastmilk and taking into account relationships between allergens. Now when you are thinking about expanding your child's diet is the perfect...

But he is four and has no history of contact reactions.? I know he won't eat any and we wash his hands really really well afterwards.? When he was 2-3 we stuck to homemade exclusively. As PP meantioned playdough isn't all that hard to make.? I make a few batches every couple...

Sorry accidently posted before I typed
Last night DS got a hold of a cookie, and we took it from him right away, because he has a mild wheat allergy. Well an hour or so later he started crying and coughing and then he threw up all over me, and we noticed his face was rashy and his lips were a little swollen. We called the on call physician and she said not to worry because he would have had ...

I know how frustrating this is! Hugs. Ydd had blood and mucous in her poop. Since Odd has multiple food allergies I was certain that was the case for ydd. I eliminated the top 8 and kept a food diary. When she started loosing weight our GI figured it was silent reflux (I think that's what he called it- she never threw up). One day on the reflux meds and we saw an improvement. (SHe was ...

Well reaction trumps test. Testing is not 100 % proof positive. But since you have gotten a reaction from cashews of course stay away from them. The sunflower oil is probably processed enough that it doesn't phase her. Now peanuts are not in the same class as tree nuts. You can be allergic to one and not another.
How does she handle walnuts?

Eek- the 3rd time! It's time to shop for an alternative daycare. Before you do that, you can try sitting down with the director. I can see ONE time happening. I'd think that they would be hyper vigilant after that...
I've never heard of daycares that specialize in FA's. My odd just started preschool at 4yrs old. I have friends that work in daycares, I'll pick their brains tonight. ...

Sounds silly to me. I think it's possible for unrecognized food allergies to lead to overgrowths of yeast and hence yeast infections in girls' vaginas, but if she's not eating eggs, then it's from something else. Non-allergic kids get yeast infections too.
I don't really know what causes recurrent yeast infections in children. Or if sometimes they just simply happen. I think I've heard ...

Should be fine, you only need to be off the antihistimines for 3 days prior to the testing so Sun-Wed is more then enough time for the meds to get out of the system. We've even done testing after only 2 days off the meds and still got possitive results.

Are you avoiding other foods as well? Bread is probably one of the easiest baked goods. There's also cakes.
Typically kids will outgrow a dairy allergy at either 6, 12, or 24 months. Not sure why it's those times but those are the most common. So you may want to consider waiting a few more months to try.

co pay covers mine. We paid like $8 for 2. The pharamcist will show you how to use it too.
I'm sure it seems odd to you, but just remember how routine it is for the allergist office. Epi pens are like handing out stickers to them! :)

We have a Medic Alert braclet for my son. I know it is not the inexpensive way to go because it is coupled with a service that costs $40 a year. Am emergency responder can get the phone number on the braclet and call for medical info on your child.
You could probably google medical braclets and get a lot of good alternatives.

It can take up to 6 weeks to see full results from a dairy elimination. So give it some time. You need to count from when you were 100% dairy free.
If after several weeks it still hasn't totally cleared up you may want to consider eliminating soy. Dairy and soy are the most common allergens in infants to cause the nasty mucous poops. Approx 50% of kids with a dairy allergy are also ...
