Bethany: That's how it was that one year we got up early to go to Walmart for our flat screen. The line was a mile long and we were still in Jersey so it was freezing. I might go out shopping later after leaving here... BF doesn't seem as congested down here as it was in Jersey.

Awe, it's Kenzie's second, I was thinking about last year.? She was tiny and not gaining weight, we had to go the hospital for a weight check that morning.? The night before my blood pressure shot up and I had to spend the whole day sitting, with my feet up and having my pressure checked every hour or so.? Everyone else ran around and played Wii and I sat in the corner.? This year is waaaaay better:)

I would try journeys the skater brand shoes run wide. I always got them for my older kids. DC's, Etnies shoes like that.
I am guessing you just got the shoes too big. You are probally used to shoes being tight on him so you had to buy a bigger size before. But once you get a wide shoe you need to get the size that actually fits the length of his foot or they will slide off.

Wow, it sounds like you have been through so much. I am glad you are looking for support. I know you will get a lot here. I have worked on a domestic violence hotline and you are the exact type of person they can help. There is a national number, 1.800.799.SAFE (7233)
You are doing the right thing by leaving your husband at this point. He sounds extremely unstable. I would call ...

Does your pedi have an after hours number? Or is on call? You might want to give him a call to see what he recommends. I don't know of any remedies...other than a warm washcloth, wiping his eyes when needed. DS had it last year and he had to have antibiotic eye drops. Hope he gets some relief!!
Sorry wasn't much help. LOL!

Sounds like you're handling a lot right now! First of all - hang in there - and kudos to you for being such a patient mom to help her through this transition.
If you want this situation to change, I highly recommend you consider CIO. I know you mentioned feeling bad about your neighbors, but consider that CIO methods usually work after 3-5 days of tears. In your current situation your ...

I forgot to add that I am currently paying a nanny neighbor to watch my son the remaining hours I need to cover when at work, and plan to use a day care or nursery school when space opens -- these options are simply very expensive and I am looking for helpful ideas on how to make them less so, what people who have 2-3 young children do, etc. Thanks.

We had a problem getting DS to figure out a sippy and we realized it was the valve. They were so spill proof that he couldn't figure out what he was supposed to do. We tried a valve-free and he figured it out quick. We use these www.learningcurve.com/product/detai...
You'd think they'd make a mess, but they really don't for us. Plus they are easier for DS and easier to clean. Also, you ...

I have the same questions about Skim... cause we drink skim in our house and even though its no biggie to buy whole milk for DS, I was wondering if Skim would cut it (as long as his weight wasn't affected)

Oh Amy, I totally understand. I actually told DH a couple weeks ago, we better start doing our cards already because we'll never get them done. I hate artifical trees, but we are going to have to buy one now, because I worry too much about Oliver eating the needles. I haven't bought anything at all for Christmas, and the Holidays are so hard because it's a holiday tour extravaganza because we...
