It is still possible to get it back up. ?At 20 weeks I was 1.2 w/funneling. ?After 1 week of strict trendelenburg was back up to 2.5. ?Dr allowed me back home and was only told bedrest, shower every couple days, stairs once a day and could get up to bathroom. ?Two weeks later down to .6!! ?Same thing, dr threatening hospital etc. ?I have a 19 month old and and with the holidays coming up said no and demanded a hospital bed be delivered to my...

I have super bad itching at my sites too. As long as it's not infected I'm good. Thanks for your input. I guess it affects us all differently. Hopefully the side effects will lessen as time goes on.

Cerclage Placed
Published (2009-12-13 00:00:00)
I had a nurse come out, some people have there dh do them for them. The needle didnt hurt, but you do feel the meds going in. The area was a little sore for about 24 hours but feels fine now. This was my first one and I had just got the cerclage so I was already kind of out of it but for the most part I didnt notice any other effects from the shot.

Progesterone Shots??
Published (2009-12-13 14:08:53)
I started progesterone (17p) shots at 16 weeks of pregnancy.? This and a cerclage?came highly recommended after I had my angel baby at 19.5 weeks last year due to IC.? I take my shot weekly.? ? Both my OB and perinatologist have had positive results in their high risk patients.? So much that most patients have had to be induced after having?the cerclage and weekly 17p shots.? With that said, my OB has already scheduled my induction date.?

Cerclage Placed

i'd luck out... b/c I would be high risk, I will have to go to my doctor's every week anyway, and that's when they will administer the shot... and my prenatal care under my insurance goes, you pay your co-pay for the appt that confirms your pregnancy, then all the other appt are covered under that...? oh boy, irritability??? haahaa, i was cranky enough with just being pregnant last time!!

Incompetent Cervix :( Hopefully...

Going to a high risk doctor would probably be your best bet. I had a preventative cerclage at 14 weeks. I go to my ob/gyn and I go to my perinatal doc. I have to go about every two weeks to see the perinatal doctor. Unfortunately the preventative cerclage doesn't always mean no bed rest. I have been on bed rest since I was at 21 weeks. I am now at 29 weeks. I had funneling in my cervix and they wanted to make sure it didn't make it...

I'm sorry for your loss. I can understand wanting to do anything that you can during this pregnancy to prevent something from happening.
My understanding is that many doctors will place a cerclage as late as 24 wks, with a few as late as 26 weeks.
I got mine at 19wks when my cervix had never been shorter than 3.1 cm, but I also have a history of preterm labor with shortened cervix. That ...

I am like you... I'll need a cerclage next time... I also switched doctors, which you have to do if you're not comfortable with the one you had... I lost my first baby after starting to dilate at 20 weeks.... I was on strict hospital bed rest (not being able to get up for anything) for 5 1/2 weeks before I went into labor....
Are you switching to a High Risk doctor (MFM)? I know my new ...

I'm sorry for your loss. Congratulations on this pregnancy, I hope that it will go better this time around with closer monitoring.
I had my first cervical length check at 16 weeks. It was a transvaginal u/s followed by a brief abdominal u/s. So with the transvag, the tech just took a good look at the cervix. Several measurements are taken over a 5 minute or so period so they can get an avg ...

I know not all you ladies have to take these but some of you do. This is my first pregnancy actually using them and honestly, I don't like them much.
I have DH give it to me at night and the next morning I feel like crap all day long. I have a headache, nausea, sometimes vomiting and I'm really tired. All side effects of the injection.
And realistically I know that it's a VERY small price ...

They couldn't tell me 100% that it was IC first and then infection later but they are pretty confident since when they found everything,I was already dialated 4cm and the water bag was protruding.
I have been treated like IC and had a cerclage at 13.5 weeks. I had some funneling around 23 weeks so I'm glad I had the surgery.
Good Luck!
