Continuing the "K" theme

I think since you DD is Kennedy that you should go with Keegan. I don't think Keegan is "trendy". I don't see how it would be either, aren't "popular" and "trendy" pretty much the same thing? Keegan was ranked 222 for 2008. It's not really popular, IMO. I've never? even heard it IRL. Ok, sorry for that little rant :) but yeah Keegan!!

Do you think parents disrespect...
Published (2009-11-03 00:00:00)
I was thinking this to myself. This especially only seems to happen in America. People here a foreign name on a baby and think "ooh that's so cute, i'll name my daughter that when she's born". But then they don't actually search the name to learn more about it. For example, if you're gonna use a Russian name on your child, you should at least respect the name your giving your daughter as much as the Russians...

I agree with Isabel.? Is there a more traditional name that you would like for the MN that's not so filler-esque?? I don't care for Alex Andrea, but I do think Alexandria would be beautiful with a less common MN.

marley and reese are both gender neutral. My bff just named her little boy Marley (yes, after Bob Marley), and Reese was originally a boys name. I'd find a name that was definitely girly for twin girl #2.

I'd agree except that I' d change "disrespect" to "act in ignorance of" in most cases, which is still sad. Something as important as naming a child ought to be done with care, and I think there are people out there who never take a few minutes to look into a name's meaning/ origin/ pronunciation or if they do then say, "I don't care about ___. I just like the way it looks/ sounds/ etc."

None of those names stand out for me either. We couldn't come up with a boy's name until I was about 7 1/2 months pregnant with our son. Boys names are really hard because you want masculine, unique, not crazy, not easy to make fun of. Oh yeah, and not gone to the girls. If none of these are what you want, keep looking. You'll eventually find something you love. I suggest researching names from ...

We had picked out Lillian Elizabeth (nn Lily) for DD #2, but DH has recently changed his mine. Apparently he's met a ton of Lilys lately and thinks it's too common (something that doesn't bother me). I still love the name and will fight for it if necessary! The other names we're considering are Lucille (Lucy), Margaret (Maisie), or Clara. Middle name will be Elizabeth, after my grandma. I'm...

"We happen to really like the name, but thanks for your opinion anyways." "Thanks, but I wasn't asking for your opinion." "I'm sorry to hear that, but I'll name my child what I like, and you can name yours what you like, mmkay" so that's not really polite, but it works. :) If you like the name, that's all that matters. Unless your naming your little one something totally bizarre, then I ...

the ay makes a long A sound.
I'm sorry but just about any name that needs a pronunciation guide is bound to get mispronounced a lot. Frankly, it sounds a lot like "serrated" (like a steak knife) to me.
