Do you intend to run the generator full time?
If so, A diesel generator is much better than a gas as if the engine is kept hot all the time, you can run it unmodified on diesel, vegetable oil, motor oil, tranny fluid, hydraulic fluid, kerosene, lamp oil, whale oil, and the list goes on. Also the diesel will give you much longer run times on equivalent volume.

We did pretty well on this Flat but we needed oil and sugar. We did grow sorghum molasses and made sorghum which turned out awful as our equipment was rusty. Ha
If you got enough land you can raise wheat, buckwheat barley. Also plenty of potatoes. Plant all kinds of fruit trees. If you want to butcher get a pig. We had three. We also had goats but you need a billy for them and they can be ...

All anybody thinks when they see people hooking up that stuff to a truck to pull it away is that it must belong to them.
Someone could steal all of the farm equipment from the field next to my house and I wouldn't really know if the equipment belonged to the people taking it away. (the farmer keeps his implements out in the back corner of ...
