Serious Issues with Photoshop CS4
Published (2009-12-22 20:56:00)
Just scoping around, did you try changing your compatibility mode? (right click>properties>compatibility) Do you have OpenGL installed? I don't know squat about PCs but those two things came up often in a tech search.

InDesign Question

PD, that would work in Illy, but there's no Pathfinder Divide in Indy. I prefer teh maths too, but in this case I clicked on the node with the scissors tool.

InDesign Paragraph Styles
Published (2009-12-17 02:56:00)
In regards to Buda's question, I don't have any character styles set up. For Garrick's questions: I did use the auto ToC. I thought I had set up separate style sheets for it, but it doesn't generate the way I thought it would, so I've manually changed the style after it's generated. It worked on all the documents except one, where it didn't change two lines correctly, all the others were right. Oh,and...

Thank you for the video but that does not help my problem. I want to use my other tools like the clone tool or healing brush and it will not allow me to do any artwork.

Indesign image res. question
Published (2009-12-19 16:00:00)
Thanks for pointing out that what I was talking about in ppi depends on litho printing - I believe I neglected to mention that. The OPs question was about InDesign Image Res. unless I misread the title? And there's two ways it looks at the resolution - actual and effective. The effective PPI is the one to watch. If you scale in InDesign the PPI of the image is effected. I didn't even get into how transparency flatteners can UPsample...

Indesign image res. question

6thAveConcepts, I'm guessing that in the process of the design, perhaps the placed size of the image goes through various incarnations until the design is finalized.

InDesign Question

Fewer steps: Elipse Tool (L), make circle, then Line segment tool (/) make line. Select both, align them how you want, then Pathfinder (divide). * sorry ^^ My mind is in Illustrator **

Hi, TheMez, welcome to the forum.
At work we're all running Leopard and CS3 and in January we'll update to Snow Leopard. Our Apple guy has heard no reports of any problems with them working together. Just watch the RAM in the mini—make sure you have enough.

Have you tried contacting Adobe Support via their support Portal? I had to do that with another issue in Illustrator CS4 and they were very prompt with their responses. If your CS4 is registered, it's only a simple matter of creating a log-in.
Sorry, can't help you with Windows.

Choose the Ellipse tool (key command L). Draw the circle (hold down the shift key to constrain to a circle).
Choose the Direct Select tool (A) so you can see the four control points.
Choose the Scissors Tool (C), and click the top, then bottom, points.
Chose the Select tool (V or Escape), select one of the halves and use an arrow key to move the halves away from one another. Remember ...

Short answer is yes, as long as it's linked. I don't embed, so I can't comment about that.
Just like cropping a photo in Indy is non destructive, resizing is also. The original image is not changed.

InDesign Paragraph Styles
I'm working on a large document and have finally began to understand paragraph styles. However, sometimes it doesn't seem to apply correctly. For example, when I apply a different style to the table of contents, I still have to manually fix two or three lines. Also, yesterday I tried to edit a style, but it ...

Did the item you were trying to move over have a pantone or spot colour associated with it?
