[TOPIC] Globalsat BT 335 -...

> It seems that the BT335 is getting better reviews than the DG100. My application is for downloading data, to be later transformed into UTM coordinates. My DG100 seems only capable of providing data in the very awkward DDMM.MMMM format. Will a BT335 record in DD.DDDDD format (or better yet, UTMs directly?) Also, will it produce a long data stream (many hours in a row) without chopping it up into small files, as my DG100 seems to do?

> No. You can only take to a max of 6 hours, if your are luck, with this kind of -not always useful- decrease time of log or recording. Im talking (mail) with San Jose factory to get a special battery 30hrs unit. But I dont have any reply yet. Maybe if I open the logger and replace the battery with another one LIPOL I can extend the autonomy of the device. But I´m not a good electronic engenieer, and if not look a dificult task, I sure...

> Hi I currently use my Garmin eTrex Summit for datalogging. I download the data into my Bayo Cartoexplorer mapping software, edit it, save it as a gpx file, then open it in Google Earth, and save it again as a kml file. I edit the KML using NorthGates handy KML editor and then I post them to my blog. An example of an entry is here http://alpinebreak.com/2008/photo/first-ski-tour-of-the-season/ I tend to find that I have quite a lot of...

I'd like to track several ~1 mile paths taken through (very) open land to within +/- 1m of each other (not to world coordinates). I'd like to do this at...
