I think the shaft bends are real.
On a few swings here I swung slower.
and the shaft bending went away.
And the driver had the biggest bend.
I'd swear that the driver shaft is a
Taylor Made R5 stiff shaft firm tip.

Most likely the two that "felt" slower were actually better timed and as a result had a higher club head speed though you weren't trying as hard...golf is a funny game...

I purchased 3
driver shafts from those guys a few years back. Got exactly
what I paid for, and for less than half the going price at Golfsmith or any
other golf shop. NO complaint from me.

This is an interesting survey. Never answered those questions in the past.

I would definitely add the 3 iron, based on your claim that you hit the old 2 well. Have you ever hit a
hybrid? What were your issues with the old 5W? Have you tried any of the newer 5 woods?

At 6'4", you would really benefit from being fit. If these clubs are stock they are optimized for someone 5" or 6"s shorter. In your case any irons correctly fit would probably be a good place to start. Assuming the 20 year old clubs are
standard length and lie, you would probably see improvement with anything that fit you properly.

I've lost two 9-irons while playing. When I'm around the green and take a couple of clubs and my putter, I have a
bad habit of forgeting about the club I lay down in the rough while I'm putting.

As YOU stated, the only thing that matters, is which set YOU hit the best.
I'd recommend you hit both irons and see which one YOU hit the straightest
the most often. Then DO IT AGAIN a few days later, and see if you get the
same results.
