The longest I've ever gone with the same ball is 17 holes. Lost it on the 18th when I duck-hooked it right into the woods.

I love the feel of blades. I've got a old set of Sam Snead blades. They feel great but if you hit it poorly it goes nowhere. For better ball-strikers I'd reccomend blades. Quote: You can preach about blades all you want, but you cant deny the fact that the majority of tour pros nowdays are playing cavity-backs. If blades are so much better, why are all these pros playing CBs? Most pro's do use blades. Only time they use...

I gamed a 905R (GOAT titliest Driver) for close to two seasons. I didnt tee it up any higher than i would any other driver. About a half-ball above the crown. But i dont think tee height is really the issue. If youre worried about skying the ball, then youre probably coming in too steep.

I voted A because I use so many "woods" so my bag has to be able to organize clubs with headcovers. The OGIO "woode" system does that. So its the clubs for me.

Good evening everyone, the paint on the back of my Mizuno irons that fill in the word "Mizuno" is coming off on some parts. I'm just curious if there's a certain type of paint one could use to fill that in or not. Thanks for any suggestions!

Played yesterday and shot pretty well with temporary greens. Hit a drive on
18 that carried 260 or 265 into a slight breeze - that's good for me.
But the second shot earns my " best shot of the week" this week. I had about
70 yards to a temporary green (pin stuck in the fairway). I had about 115
yards to the center of the green, so I estimated about 75 yards to the pin.
Took my 54? wedge, which I ...

What do you do over the Winter? Just pack up the clubs and bust them out in the Spring or do you go down south and play during the Winter months?
**Could a mod/admin move this to Golf Talk? I didn't realize I was in the Playing Tips Forum when I made the thread. My bad.

in stead of going for the pin aim for the center of the green. youll save strokes by doing that. also since you will be on the green practice putting twice as much

In 2009, definitely my driver. Average drive of 280 yards. Hit about 85% of faiways. Hopefully this keeps up in 2010. Need to work on the short game, 100 yards in.

Seems to me that the 'free' lesson IS part of the membership dues. those lessons, regardless who conducts them are the persons job...he already gets paid and might take offense is you do try to tip him. Let him give you the tips! As you had just joined, relax a bit and get a feel for the environment of the place.

My Dad golfed but I wouldn't say he got me into the game. I took up the sport with a friend when I was 12. We would get a junior pass for the city courses and golf away our summer holidays. When we were not golfing we were walking through the bushes at a nearby private course looking for golf balls. We would then sell them back to the golfers for a $1 a piece.
In a way, my Dad ...

Let me clarify something regarding the "contest."

Ive owned a few 1-irons, all were cavity-backs. They werent all that hard to hit, but the ball didnt go very high in the air with them.
Its a great club to have in windy conditions because the ball stays low and out of the wind, but you have to be pretty strong in order to get enough clubhead speed so that you can get the ball up in the air though.
Honestly, most amateurs and even...
