QUOTE (farawayHN @ Nov 4 2009, 06:33 AM) Thanks elmn8r. This is great visualization. Just a quick question, when your upper body move toward the target/door jam, do the hand and hence ball position move slightly forward as well? I think that is something you will have to experiment with. Personally, I found that I did need to move the ball position slightly forward.

QUOTE (elmn8r @ Nov 3 2009, 09:34 PM) You should have seen my wife's face when I ask her to take pictures of said behavior in the doorway... Alright, I'll give you that one! Asking your wife to take pictures is even worse (better?) than simply standing there with a club. Like I said, above and beyond.

In Crokers drill, he does the exact same thing, with the exception of never pushing the shoulders to the door jamb as in picture 2. That way, you don't have to worry about figuring out where to move the shoulders back to. You just set up as you indicate in picture 1, then move the left hip to the door jamb like you show in picture 3. Feels very weird at first, but it definitely gets the job done. Again, thanks for posting this! E.

QUOTE (stevestrike @ Oct 30 2009, 11:28 PM) QUOTE (dfw1500 @ Oct 30 2009, 08:51 AM) This is a VERY validate point and is a position that I find a LOT of pupils place themselves in when they are trying to get the hip "bump" correct and achieve the reverse K position. Dan, thanks for your response. I am wondering why there is so little instruction on this aspect of the setup, everyone talks...

elmn8r, you rock man. That is a spot on explanation of the setup and hip rotation, from what I understand of Geoff's preferences...would be interested in dfw's take too. Regardless, very impressive effort, reminds me of the great stuff that hoganfan put together on the grip... Tim

What you read is correct, a traditional golf swing is led by left side (lead side) , and the right side is along for the ride. Most all swing errors materialize when the right side initiates rather than follows. However, none of this is anything a player needs to "think about". When using correct grip, posture, and alignment, especially the correct left hand grip, then the left (lead) side ...

If ball is starting straight it isn't a face problem it is a path problem. Face is square but path is across the ball. I'd work on an even wider stance and sliding the hips more and rotating them less. You want to finish with your hips facing the target (90º) with your belt buckle outside of your left foot. Right now hips are spinning out (around 130º) and backing up. Hips moving ...

question on flying wedge and tilts: do you think a feeling of maintaining the flying wedge (as Nick Clearwater identifies it as right wrist flex http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xq6B6xONedM) , encourages proper lateral motion and tilting on the downswing/through swing? in other words, would a player intuitively delay rotation in order to allow the clubface to remain square to arc longer, ...
