Hmm... You mean just put plexi with the glow stuff on it behind the opaque plastic? That would work I guess, but I really wanted the design to be flush with the plastic. I guess I could do that, and then fill it in with some silicone or something. That's actually where I was going to get the LED, from a flashlight.

I would suggest that you use the acrylic water based glow in the dark paint alongside your regular acrylics. Clear acrylic overtop is fine.

Hidden/Secret Message Effect?

I was afraid of that. In either event, I still think it'd be cool to use glow-in-the-dark as an accent in my paintings. I use a lot of heavy lines, so maybe I could use the glowing paint for outlining. I'm very new to the website and the products - Is there a guide somewhere that could tell me how to use the glowing paint in acrylic paint? Is that possible? Mixing the powder into light colored acrylic paint? Or should I use the...

You should be able to just paint or screen print your image onto the plexi glass and use the led as an edge light. That should work for both glow and fluorescent paint/pigment. Where are you getting 365 nm LEDs? I can't seem to find them except for as part of whole flashlights.

I would like to do this, i own a 405nm 50mW laser. I was wondering if it charges all the colors available. And how well it writes on them how long the glow remains? My goal was to purchase 3 colors of paint and apply them to some sort of 5x5 fabric(maybe another foldable portable material suggestions?) to make graffiti art. I was thinking 3-4 1/2 FL OZ would be enough, no?

You definately want the shadow wall formula. Use a lower powered light if you want it to glow even less. We now have 2'x3' glow wall boards designed for glow walls or shadow walls for $99. They will be on the website within a few days, but you can buy them now. Danny

Hello I'm working on some new acrylic paintings and thought it'd be cool if I could paint/write some hidden messages or images over my finished paintings that would only be revealed when the lights go off. I've browsed the powders and pre-mixed paints - I'm not even going to pretend I know how to accomplish this. Do any of you know a way where I could paint OVER my existing ...

I assume you have solvent-based paint. Pry off the white ring with your fingers. After that, use a screw driver to pry open aluminum lid. Danny

Firstly the GID pigment does not dissolve. The pigments come in various particle sizes so the larger the particle the heavier the medium needs to be to keep the particles in suspension. So a water like medium is unlikely to work with any of the pigments. You'll need a clear liquid with some viscosity and add to that one of the specialty powders with a small particle size. This will be your ...

fluorescent is definately the way to go. You can mix it with most acrylic clear mediums. It is best if they do not have UV filters. We sell a clear medium on our specialty paints page if you are interested. Post pictures!!!! Thanks, Danny Clark

Hi Patti, I'm also a newbie - but my first question is: Are the windows in your office UV protected? (Abbey, Pete, Danny, Chris - is this a relevant question?) I understand why the GITD paint didn't glow on the black background (because it won't!), I'm wondering if even though you used some white the surrounding black was just too overwhelming?
