The best answer is get a feel by firing the rounds. You can get set back in feeding into a lever gun magazine......you might consider a profile/taper crimp die versus a roll crimp die to avoid creasing the plating.

When primers were scarce and I found them in stock on line I just bought a boat load of them. I figure if I have to pay hazmat I'm not going to just buy 1000. Now that I don't need any I see them in the local shops again. It's hit or miss online and at local shops. Go to the gun show and if they don't have them look in local shops. Last resort for me is always online but you can find them ...

Had to pull the primer magazine out of the primer shield housing (well built) by putting the primer magazine in a vise and use a twist-pull method. Note the primers bulged the primer shield during the explosion.

You'll have a hard time finding specific printed data for heavy lead bullets in the 45colt. You can use jacketed data for lead loads & most often at lower pressures. A chronograph helps you find the 1000fps zone you are looking for. I don't use HS6, but 300grLFP @ 1000fps is easily done w/ several powders; Unique, WSF (pushing those two IMO), BlueDot, HS7, 2400, H110.

That's kinda like asking when is it time to trade up a girlfriend/wife, or both... when it stops being fun and it's no longer worth the trouble... well, you get the drift.

Lead piping is great for bullets. It is nasty to smelt down, depending on what has been running through it, but w/ a bit of tin (bar solder) added, it makes a great bullet to 1000fps. Beyond that, you'll need to alloy it w/ clip-on ww &/or water drop to cool, or add linotype or other known alloy. This is a great site for casting & allyo info. http://www.lasc.us/CastBulletNotes.htm The Lyman ...

I have stopped receiving it a few times, whenever I go awhile without ordering from them. I ordered a catalog a few months back and placed and order for case gauges and it took over 2 months to get the catalog and I have only received 1 so far.

You load plated w/ lead data. So pick a 158gr LSWC load & use that.
