For the folks who mod guns,...

Well, I honestly have no pictures of targets or internal pics of my 19 to offer up, but I can say a few things with a fair amount of certainty. First off, I am a military firearms instructor, with over 10 different weapon systems certifications under my belt. I don't brag, and I consider myself very humble in my skills, both as an instructor, and as a fair marksman in most weapons I pick up. That being said, my Glock 19 has a few mods....

Aftermarket Guide rods?
Published (2009-12-04 20:00:00)
I change all my guide rods to SS before I shoot the gun. The M&P pistols come with metal sights and metal guide rods as standard equipment and IMO that is a good thing.

Is a Ghost connector worth it?

Update! i have made up my mind on practicing what I will be carrying on duty as an officer (.40 most likely) so G23 it is. I'm still gonna get the AA .22lr conversion kit for it for plinking. Thanks to everyones input!

Is a Ghost connector worth it?

The Ghost Rocket and other Ghost products are great. The legal issues would probably be best avoided. IMHO they are wives tale nonsense, but after previous experience I would say that enough discussion will eventually involve problems with folks that have influence and then you get a spanking.

You can buy 3M Safewalk by the foot too. I pu tin on, then took it off all my carry guns (I still use it on the match guns). It tended to snag my shirt or cover garment on the draw.

Town Gun in Collinsville, VA has G17 and G19 mags for sale for $19.95, but I do not know if they will ship out-of-State. www.lonewolfdist.com has them for around $26.95.

Are there any actual facts behind modded guns/ handloaded ammo and getting in more trouble in a self defense case? I always read this in forums have not seen any links or firsthand experience.

My Kahn mags, (all drop free) perform flawlessly. Sounds like these latest, nondrop free are not up to the same standards.
As far as buying something other than OEM goes that's a no brainer. If it works at 1/2 the price, which mine do then it's money saved. If they don't, then it's money lost. It's not rocket science guys but then some folks would be asking why buy non factory if every ...

Inner-tube is my favorite.
I prefer rubber grips and love Hogue grip panels on my Sigs. The Hogue slip-on grips just didn't work for me on Glocks. I've tried a couple of other products, but I like the 'tube.

I've got the G23 and love the versatility. I shoot 9mm more than .40 and it's great. That being said, please go back and re-read Boxerglockers reply #14- it is pure wisdom. Let me add that being polite will get you MUCH farther in ALL areas of life

What ammo are you using. These kits do need a little breakin time, I start out with CCI mini mags. After about 300 rounds clean the slide good.
