40 S&W Reloading Questions
Published (2009-11-15 23:02:00)
Firefighter, While some barrels may have more support that others, there is no such thing as a fully supported chamber in a semi-automatic pistol barrel. Now the danger in .40S&W reloads is not Glock specific, as some sources would lead you to believe. The .40 is a maximum pressure round. Being such, used brass should not be reloaded to match factory new velocities, period. it's just too stressful on the brass. Now, regarding lead...

First time for a squib
Published (2009-11-15 18:06:00)
I have never had a squib in factory ammo and have been shooting since 1982. I had one squib, which was from reloaded ammo. I fired a .38 special squib load in my .357 magnum Colt Python and immediately knew it was a squib. I held the barrel downrange for 1 minute and then opened the action. The bullet was lodged in the barrel.

Contact Talo and ask them would be my suggestion. The reality of holsters is that any holster will eventually impart some wear on pretty much any and all finishes out there, except perhaps ion bond/diamond black. A hard kydex holster will merely accellerate the process, as it impacts more aggressively, and with less give on the gun/gun finish during the holstering and draw process; leather and/...

I was looking at the 30sf too. I noticed there have been quite a few problems with them. I was going to hold off and see if glock can fix it.

You can still get the gun disassembled, even if the trigger will not release. Lock the slide to the rear, reach in with your 3/32" tool and compress the black plastic striker sleeve, remove the backplate, remove the striker/sleeve/spring assembly. Same as detail stripping the slide, but with the slide still on the lower. With the striker assembly out, you can then remove the slide from the ...

I highly recommend the G17. Practice will be cheaper and modern jacketed 9mm hollow point ammo does a fine job, especially in a home defense situation. I suggest Cor-Bon 115-gr +P JHP's or Federal Personal Defense.

I doubt it's your sights (but if you want to upgrade to night sights, you should). It's the combination of your sub-compact gun/short barrel and the snappy .40 round in my opinion. If you want better accuracy at the range, go buy some low velocity target ammo in .40 like I did for GSSF competition. Otherwise, appreciate your 27 for what it is; a great belly gun.

My G31 is from the winter 97-98.
Lost count of rounds.
For two years I shot bowling pins every fri. night.
Have 32 and 33 also.
Great guns.
Replace springs once a year.
