HK USP or 1911

The 'bore axis' issue is a non-entity. It is as high as a S&W N frame revolver and all pistols rotate around a axial point in the palm of one's hand. Increasing the radius 0.5 inches and retaining the same cartidge recoil impulse is not going to materially and significantly affect the physical act of shooting anymore than the difference between the linked barrel design of J.M. Browning versus the cammed tilting barrel...

So, the standoff ended after the offender gorged himself on pizza and needed a nap? I'm kidding - I'm glad the situation was resolved without any LEO injuries. Good work.

We use COBAN. 60 second buffer. Activated manually, by the overheads, at 80mph or after a crash. It's a buggy system (the videos are theoretically supposed to automatically upload in the lot; mine hasn't in a week). Also, when you drive past the station (which is on the corner of a main intersection needed you need to get from one side of the town to another, it disconnects from the cellular and to the LAN, but doesn't reconnect...

Of course with the USP you can choose between single action or double action. That is an up-side to a 1911. The agency who put me thru the academy requires their officers to carry a 1911 variant. There is no other choice. The Sheriff is an instructor for Gunsite, so that helps, but that is the required platform. That being said, during firearms, myself and officers from other departments felt "teh ghey" with our little...

Do you have a source you can quote or a site explaining this?
I just got the Los Angeles Police Protective League information news letter, the Thin Blue Line, and it says nothing about this!
They do talk about the state increasing tax withholding for active officers income by 10% beginning November 1, 2009. Maybe this is what you are talking about.
This is the November issue, maybe it ...

Read something similar in a book once. Think it was titled Unintended Consequences or something like that.
Will be curious if the perp is ever found, especially in that area.

We do checks every few minutes while on a traffic stop or on call.
If there is no radio activity for an hour or so the unit will usually get a checkup.

The officers carry G19s with 15+1 in the chamber... how come the turd doesn't have at least 2 mag fulls from each officer dumped into him? I don't care what angle. You pull a gun on cops, you win a lot of free lead being tossed at you from all angles.
14 is not a large # of shots considering the circs. I would have dumped everything into the guy and the 3 shots that I missed would be from...

I went through a license check a couple weeks back. I pulled out my wallet, rolled down the window, one arm resting on the window sill, the other on the wheel... rolled up slowly, handed him my license and said, "Hello. Got a CCW permit, and a handgun in the console". The young copper smiled and said, "Oh yeah? What kinda gun ya got?". My response: "Just a little Kel Tec P11. But check out ...
