Mags have been a reported problem with this caliber. Availability and function. I passed on a sale price on the uppers from Bushmaster because of the mags. Your upper will be useless without mags to feed them properly. There are mags out there, but according to reports from owners, the mags are substandard. Check it out. I would reserve the caliber choice to the many good AK platforms out there. My opinion....YMMV

Yep, you either need a low profile gas block. Or you can cut and grind the stock sight down to turn it into a low profile gas block .

I have had my gun so dirty, I had to use the FA to get it into battery. Was trying to see how long I could run it before I could make it choke. I will have one, for that reason. Because my guns go to work with me, it might just be needed next time.

You won't save much, if any, money if you buy all your parts new. If you spend some time on the various forums you can get some good deals on like new/used parts and save a lot of money.
Build to get the exact rifle you want, build because you enjoy it.

For me personally, I would rank DD rail (especially the Lite rail) first, then Troy, then MI. Nothing wrong with MI, it's just that it's a little bulkier and heavier than Troy, which is just a little heavier than DD Lite. They are all excellent FF rails.

If I get another 5.56, that the one. No doubt about it. I have no interest in ARs.
Interesting that other than the US, most of the major militaries in the world are switching to bullpups.

I'm not sure what you mean by what happens to it? If you are asking if it is in the way or exposed or anything like that, the answer is no. It will reside under whichever free flaot tube or handguard you choose. Comes out of the gas block or front sight tower and goes back towards the receiver between the handguard and barrel. It will be covered the entire way by the handguard and you can do ...

Bushmasters are OK, but there are a few that are higher end than Bushy. I personally wouldn't pay over $950 for one. You can find a Colt 6920 for that much. Prices have dropped and it's definitely a buyer's market. I'd reconsider getting one online from a reputable dealer and having a FFL do a transfer for $20.
The chart shows the comparison of parts for the major manufacturers.

With the Daniel Defense Omega rail you can keep the same setup as you have it now. In all honesty it is about preference. You can get an adapter from someone like MI or Gear Sector and mount it to the rail or you can keep it as is. Your choice.
Now if you are asking whether or not this will affect the free-float accuracy advantage you receive with the rail, I would say no, you won't ...

Lately I have been seeing allot of posts on bad rifles, then again, when everything works perfectly no one posts anything; only when theres a problem, so- YMMV.

Building an AR15 is no more difficult than playing with Lego's or Tinker Toy's. If you can follow the directions to build a Lego kit you can build an AR15.
I suggest you spend some time at AR15.com in their Build It Yourself forum. They have plenty of instructions.
Also Brownells has some great videos on how to.

Very nice looking gun you got there.
Drop the bi pod and add a muzzle brake and you would have one hell of a great tactical class three gun rifle. Not that there is anything wrong with it the way it is.

If I understand your question, what you're looking for is called a co-wittness, where you can use your optic and irons in conjunction with each other.
With an EoTech or Aimpoint etc. (red dot/holo) this can be done. The idea, in addition to a co-wittness, is that should your optic fail, you still have a view of your irons as a back-up.
This is how I understand it, anyways.
