what fuel petcock did you use?? I used a Pingel dbl outlet and ran both to the pump. Be sure to ALWAYS keep the run to the pump inlet on a downhill run. And try and imagine the bike up on a 9- 10 o'clock wheelie and try and keep the fuel flowing downhill to the pump if possible. And I found that 4 psi fuel press. worked good for our draw through. And we ran an HSR 48 on 6lbs boost.

Check into anodizing them first. You might find it cheaper, and definately cooler. Besides, they either came polished or anodized originally.

Depends on what you've done to the bike and how you want to ride it.
I've read time and time again the best carbs for any oil cooled GSXR 750 street bike are the slingshot mikunis from 1988/89.

i'm a believer in the harder you run your engine the more often it should be changed
the norm is after every race meeting ,there is a rating on oil that tells you how good it is -in oz we have a rating the further down the alphabet the lettter behind the letter s
the better the quality of oil , with the cam rocker problems they have go for the best you can afford .

did you try grounding out one of the spark plugs while firing the bike? You
should see the spark jump between the plug resistor.

1986 gsxr1100 back to stock
I"m restoring a 1986 GSXR1100.
The 2 parts I'm doing now: installing a stock front end from '86 (it has a '93 or so upside down fork on it that I am going to remove) and putting on stock 1986 wheels.
Here's the question: I like the '93 rear swingarm on it now but I like the look of the 1986 wheels more ...

Everyone else is going to say it, so let me be the first: an 1100 motor swap will be cheaper and faster.
But, if you insist. I believe both kits require sleeves, so you might as well go for the 955 (or at least that is what I would do with your money).
Just to lay it out there, you're looking at a very expensive motor for an old bike. It's $500+ for the pistons and $300 for the sleeves, ...

Personally I prefer OEM to glass for a street bike or " cherished ride" but on one particular bike I am using glass because it is a racer replica. So for that glass is a requirement. And that answeres the other part of the question in that no, it does not look like stock, but it is passable if the paint is applied right. It is more durable in some ways and less in others. The OEM stuff will flex ...
