camera scaring deer?

Like others said, hang higher out of normal eyesight and wear your rubber boots to check and keep your hands off the foliage walking in and out. Deer trails change often with different food sources also. If the cams new it might stink, unless it makes that noise you get when you call a fax number, I wouldnt think it's noisy or vibe's BTW how do you like it, does it work like its supposed to?

I still think he looks sort of banged up with the scar on his belly and everything. There are other 1 1/2 year olds on the property with racks bigger than that. I think maybe he's a young deer that's been busted up a little. I'm pretty new at this too though.

try placing your camera higher up the tree and angle it back down. I do this on scrape sets and will get 30 second videos of neat action as long as the camera is above eye level of the deer and just angle it back down.

i would agree that the capture is a good camera, sometimes. i have two of them and one lasts about a month on batteries and the other only lasts about 2 weeks. i've heard of others having similar problems where some of them work great and some work not as well.

It's weird how they act around cameras. I can put out cameras all summer long and the deer just keep coming back and posing for them. Not the big bucks though, alot of times all I get of them is just one pic. They don't play around with it. But once hunting season comes around and there becomes pressure, then the pictures cut down drastically. The deer definitely relate the cameras to human activity. We have the same problems with...

where was this picture taken, is this the only pic you have of this deer this year or last?? deer is so close to the camera it is hard to tell age, heckuva 4 ptr though Lots of thought and questions need to be asked and answered when trying to decide a management buck. How large is your tract being the most important. This late in the year i might let him go just to see what happens next year ...
