Had a large time as always i killed 2 and my son killed his first i met alans son why goin to get his 8 pointer out the woods never got to meet him tho sorry we didnt meet up alan maybe next time glad you got you one sounds like yall had a great time

Cedar Creek in the morning........

So I had my first run in with cedar creek today. I'll start by saying this,,the land is alot easier to navigate than where I usually hunt in Paulding county. Im use to the rolling hills. I chose a spot off the map and was pretty lucky coming in blind and finding alot of sign.(lots of tracks, bedding areas amd such) I sat from about 8-12 in the morning then returned at 2pm and sat till dark with nothing. Saw about 25 tree rats! Found a...

Good luck to yawl! There's still plenty of deer left you just have to hunt 'em. Wish I was going too but I'll make the pw hunt in Dec. for sure.

I didn't bother notifying the GW, I have pm'd him a few times asking questions and he never has responded. So I figured if he couldn't respond to those questions what good would it be telling him of the atv's. I not one for telling folks how to do their job.

I got drawn too. First time applicant as well. I know the rut is normally a week before this hunt in that area. My advice would be go scout around during bow season since you can hunt it the entire season and find a spot where you like. Lots of deer up there and pretty easy hunting from what I've heard. I'll be studying the maps and topos. Anyone killed anything out there? Care ...

what area are you planning on being around....that is a GIGANTIC place...with tracts of land all over northeast georgia. There are good deer places....good bear places...and good hog places all over the mountains....Id get out on a saturday and start walking if I were you. I hunted sections of it for years...pressure wasn't bad where i hunted, especially during bow season....
