Excellent report and excellent pictures there Captain. I love the swim off picture……I’m a big fan of those. That looks like a pretty good starting five right there. You got the height…..you got the muscle which is good to have down on the low block and then the quickness with your guard play. If I was a betting man……I would lay my money on your team. Thanks for posting it Captain!

My pay has been cut 20% this year not to mention no pay raises last year or this year and no bonus. It has definitely cut my spending. I just got back into bass fishing and it is tough because everything cost so much. I remember fishing 15 years ago when a "bass rod" was a 6'6" medium to heavy action rod. Boy things have changed. Now they have $200 + rods for everything. I still have sticker shock. I love kayak fishing...

What rod do you recommend?

st croix mojo rods are great. Though in my opinion, if you will mainly be fishing out of a yak, you may not want to buy something real expensive. I love the berkley lightning rods, and they arent expensive. Also the length is very important. A shorter rod is going to be way easier in yak. Goodluck

i used to have some of those neoprene ones, with flip over finger cutouts, and while i agree they could make my hands sweat, i kept the fingers folded back and that helped with temp regulation. i really liked them. even if my hands got wet they warmed back up. the real trick most people dont realize is you GOTTA keep on a toboggan otherwise your body pulls blood from extremities. other than the ...

Thanks Cletus!!
That's the best thread I've seen by far in the last three or so weeks!! Too bad you didn't have a dancing fish to go along with your dog and children!!
We may all have to endure a very boring freshwater section of GON until spring when people get their juices flowing for fishing. In the meantime, feel free to keep entertaining us with videos.

BassCat sent me two with my boat Deans and Aroura. One is heavy for traveling Aroura, the outer is a lighter weight Deans. Warning There not cheap!!! $350-$600, but will last for many moons.

You can get several rods for that much. You can drive yourself crazy with all of thee rods out there. One that I have found that is cheap and works well is the ugly stick light series. And before all you guys with the g-loomis and carrot rods start telling you stuff about how much better the high dollar rods are let me say I have both, but I also have two sons and we catch alot of fish not one ...

Are you putting the line on right ?
put spool on floor cylinder holes top & bottom then spool your reel
bait casters with a pencil through it like it goes on the spool.Lay side ways .
Remove your old line from your spinning reel.
Step
2
Check to see which direction your spinning reel rotates when reeling in a fish. This will dictate how you should feed your new line into the pole. If ...

I think a flathead will eat anything it can get down it's throat, and probably a few things it can't get down it's throat.

nice factory rods. got 1 falcon orig. use it exclusively for crankbaits and would not trade it for anything.
