Quote: Start the truck and run at a fast idle for about 5 minutes. I should start smoking really good. Shut it down and wait about 20 minutes. Run it 5 minutes more, then shut it down for 20. Do this until all the gas in the portable tank is used up. By that time, the smoking should have stopped. Rehook your gas line and you are now carbon free. "smoking really good" is an understatement. Dual pipes is never over-kill Now...that being said, you don't need it in a van. Why the smallest diameter pipe? The larger you go, the better performance.

The bad Ficht years where when OMC was just about bankrupt and for the first year that Bombardier had them. In fact, it was the bad Fichts that cemented OMC's demise. After that, Bombardier got the production standards up and they have been much more reliable.

I love diesels and have owned 3 of them so far, all Fords. I really wanted a Dodge/Cummins this last go around, but couldn't find a used one priced right. There is a book full of pros and cons.
The diesels usually give better mileage truck for truck. I.e. the diesels are usually 3/4 ton (or 1 ton) trucks, so they can't really be compared to a 1/2 ton truck. I have not seen any 3/4 ton 4x4 ...

They dont have a fast strike ficht. It is either a fast strike or a ficht. The fast strike is a carburated engine, very reliable but uses a little more fuel.If it is a ficht stay away. Those are the engines that bankrupted omc. They are a direct injected eng.Good on fuel but the 150s and 175s gave alot of problems.I blew up 3 225s before I bought a new e tec.Good luck.

It should be just like new. If the system was properly bled, it doesn't take anytime for the fluid to get back into the system.
Was the belt replaced? This is a long shot, but the belt may be slipping on hard turns. It's one of my pet peeves that shops will do something like replace a PS pump, and not replace the $7.00 belt as part of the process.

You wanting to buy them off the internet or locally?
Google search " Black steel wheels" and have at it.
Most tire/wheel shops around can get those kinds of wheels. They are fairly inexpensive.
