Don't think there are too many changes in the curves in that area, so it shouldn't be that hard. A lot of twisting and turning makes it difficult. An outside curve is the easiest, actually easier then a flat surface, then compound curves. Hardest are inside curves and curves with a twist such as flared pistol grips on a long rifle stock. That can drive a man to strong drink. Before I get myself into trouble...... Chris

the Tipon best will allow you to work on an AR15 if you like due to it's higher mounting giving magazine clearance for std. rifles the basic works just fine.

There are several schools that offer gunsmithing. There is a lot to learn to be proficient. The equipment can be bought fairly cheap in todays economy, but will still cost several thousands of dollars. I would research extensively before jumping into this full time. Experience is what makes money.

Has he tried several different brands of shells? Bite the bullet (pun intended), and buy some top of the line target shells -- AA's, STS, Gold Medal -- and see if it happens with them. These have brass rims and the softest primers. If you have the problem with these shells, then you know that you have a problem with the gun. IMO the STS feed the best, and I think Remington is still using ...

Do you disassembly a Browning pump shotgun the same way as a Remington or Mossberg shotgun? I am interested in taking out the trigger guard section to perform routine cleaning. Is it as simple as removing the two trigger guard retaining pins on the receiver? Is there a special tool that is required to take out the trigger guard section?...

It would be pretty hard to put a .357 into a .38 cylinder unless the machining on the cylinder was REALLY sloppy. The .357 is a slightly larger diameter. Can you give more info as to the make and model of the .38?

You take off the buttplate or recoil pad and this gives you access to the screws that hold the stock on. You need a long screwdriver. For the forend you take off the barrel band and a screw in front. Disassembly instructions found here..... http://books.google.com/books?id=Wj4...sembly&f=fa lse

Traditionally speaking bluing and parkerizing is for carbon steel finishes. Stainless is a whole different animal. You can do a bake on finish though.

Mountain Laurel is one of the easier kinds to use. It produces a plum brown color. What is really nice is not having to degrease the metal. Helps to, but not necessary. Track of the wolf, Brownell's, Midway, Dixie, and many others sell it. Chris

Just about any of the standard accurizing mods will help. They are thrown together at the factory in away anything will help. Trigger, bedding, peep sights rather then open sights, any barrel mod.....all will help. You really can get some big improvements. If you do most of the work, it might be affordable. To get all these improvements via a gunsmith will cost more then the gun did to ...

First give the bore a good wet patching of Hoppes No.9 or Kroil (even better). Wait a few minutes. Then take a 40 cal. bore brush and wrap it in 0000 steel wool and have a go at it! It should all come out nice and shiny.
