What rod do you recommend?

st croix mojo rods are great. Though in my opinion, if you will mainly be fishing out of a yak, you may not want to buy something real expensive. I love the berkley lightning rods, and they arent expensive. Also the length is very important. A shorter rod is going to be way easier in yak. Goodluck

small cats around 1-3lbs. caught on "reaper" corn!!! the cats were VERY FAT. they were feeding heavy on the cracked corn we had thrown out. carp go just about dormant during the winter so it is a good time to catch cats on corn. then again we catch them all year long on corn. so go figure!!

You can get several rods for that much. You can drive yourself crazy with all of thee rods out there. One that I have found that is cheap and works well is the ugly stick light series. And before all you guys with the g-loomis and carrot rods start telling you stuff about how much better the high dollar rods are let me say I have both, but I also have two sons and we catch alot of fish not one ...

Remove your old line from your spinning reel. Step 2 Check to see which direction your spinning reel rotates when reeling in a fish. This will dictate how you should feed your new line into the pole. Great story and pics! I'm glad to hear you and your family had a great Thanksgiving. I have not heard the term "Salad Days" in a very long time. At first I thought you were referencing the funniest of all the Monty Python skits with the same title.

I know this may belong in the tournament forum, but these guys frequent this freshwater forum alot and not everyone visits the tournament forum. But a big congrats from me goes out to Ranger and Bugpac for putting a Coldwater whoppin on everyone at Varner and Yargo today and yesterday with some very tough fishing conditions. 10 fish for 28.42 pounds!!! Awesome job guys and Bugpac, not to shabby ...
