Weapon cleaning

I've noticed talking to a few folks that weapon cleaning isn't on the top of the list. In fact, I know of several rifles that prolly have never seen the barrel cleaned. How often do you guys clean your guns? Mine get a scrubbing after every shoot.

Hey, give the guy a break. I was in there today. The prices on the showroom were WAY below what's shown on his web site. He's probably paying someone big bucks to do his web site once a month and the programming just hasn't kept pace. Besides after being in business only 3 months, his family is probably larger than his customer base. He can't spread the hazmat over a truck load of primers and powders like the established...

Weapon cleaning

I wipe the outsides down every time that I fondle them. The barrels get cleaned/oiled every time I shoot but scrubbed with copper solvent about every 100 rounds or whenever accuracy starts suffering.

Need help with Colt's 1911
Published (2009-11-08 21:27:00)
The series 80 pistols seem to be somewhat less desirable in the market place.Go ahead and push your price point as far as you can stand. A lot of guys just gotta have the Colt name on the side. There's nothing wrong with brand loyalty especially if a brand gives you good service. There are other high quality 1911s that are often overlooked. The Springfield loaded is a very good high quality, accurate, collectible pistol as well and is...

There are several thread about which AR to buy you can search for. I like Rock River for the price. I don't like removable carry handles. You end up having to take them off to mount optics and have to keep track of them plus depending on your optics you might loose zero removing optics and remounting them. I prefer flip-up iron sights (BUIS). They are just as good as the carry handle but...

Always clean the outside and barrels get scrubbed normally around 50rds depending on how they start shooting and how bad of a fouler it is. One rifle won't settle down and start shooting good until it gets about 30rds down a clean barrel and will stay shooting good for about 100 more shots.

A Series 80 has a passive firing pin safety. A Series 70 does not. Colt has never marketed a 1911 as a MkI or II. There was a .38 Wadcutter Gold Cup called the MkIII that's been out of production for several years now.

The 7mm-08 is a 308 necked down for a .284 bullet. The ballistics are nearly identicle. The 7mm-08 will have a little better downrange balistics, because of the higher BC bullets of the .284. The 7mm-08 is a great round that is about perfect for deer. I would have no problem hunting out on the "mythical" west for elk with one either. Use a 140-150 gr bullet, keep your shots within about ...

I've seen racks that use the concept you've outlined. A steel bar across the area behind the trigger card that locks. You can't get the gun out without destroying it.

Pumps are cheaper Autos you don't have to pump Without knowing what models your looking at its hard to narrow it down. Theres autos and pumps that break the rules. There are pumps that are heavy, and more complicated to take apart There are autos that are lights, simple to take apart, and they kick about as hard as a pump.
