We are learning more and more about AS daily, and as you said your disease was mild by the time you started the diet. I just wanted to make sure there wasn't any confusion about your results. Like I said from my 20's till 40's my disease came and went and I frequently thought various diets, "cured" me until it returned 6 months or a year later. Good luck, why don't you test it and eat some starch?

OMG yes! My hands swell when I really use them for work and are sore the next day. I just broke a glass from a glass set my daughter bought us for xmas. Having matching kitchenware, mainly my glass collection is a pet peeve of hers. I am alway breaking glass or chipping dishes due to my hands just dropping stuff. To the point where I am going to buy strictly plastic. The pain with me is also in the tendons of the hands. Really feel pain in my...

I have been pushed around by so many drs. It's like they don't listen or have to have a picture in front of them that shows something. I have a decent one now, only problem is I wish we would move a little faster on treatment. I have often thought about trying another, but at least this one has tried and not sheved me out the door saying fibromyalgia. I think some of us just don't have enough markers in our blood and on films...

hi book, we have ALL been there. never give up and never give in. life here is nothing compared to the promise, but we need to live here all our natural days. write here every day, or every few hours. tell us more about your life, do you have siblings that you used to be close to? do they live far away? what about friends? wish i had a buck for every dead end job i had in my life. guess what. everything we do and everything we are, and every...

Most definitely the hands! The pinky finger on my right hand is bent straight down at the end joint. My rheumy paid particular attention to it. But my blood word is negative for rheumatoid. I've had five surgeries on my hands (trigger finger releases) which is ligament (or tendon) can't remember which, that snags on sheath running to fingers. I think constant inflammation caused mine to swell and then snag, requiring surgery to...

SO sorry you are on the other end of this terrible disease. I am 49 and was put on disability becaue of AS and the pain I am going through. I am basically in a wheelchair. Just one question-does your Dad have Humira or Enbrel treatments which are shots? Some of us have had those. I can say that if it were not for the Lord who guides me daily-that this disease would enable me to have no joy at all. It is a very painful type of arthritis and we...

BR, I had a tooth that was cracked, and it hurt so badly that I had to have it pulled. They sedated me and it was pulled in about 5 seconds. Is there any way you can have that done to get rid of that pain? It took about a month to heal completely, but now my mouth is free of pain. I hope that is an option. I will eventually have an implant put in, but for now it is fine just being out of ...

It was recorded directly into your phone? How odd! Any chance you were in a drug/pain induced haze (happens to the best of us lol!) and downloaded it and don't remember? Or could someone in your family have borrowed your phone and recorded this unbeknownst to you? I searched on various portions of the statement and can't find any reference to this as a "thing" that has been published anywhere ...

Hi, Rob. You're among friends here. I'm so sorry to hear about your father's long history of health problems. It's obvious that it's taken quite a toll on you, too, which is sad to see. You probably already know, since you've experienced his alcoholism, that you can do little to help him unless he is willing to ask for/accept help. If you haven't seen him much in the past year, he may not ...

hi david, good luck, and remember mri's are not always inconclusive. just keep track of your symptoms and pain levels in the daily diary i always talk about. you do have something! were you HLA B27 positive? have you had iritis? don't recall your story personally, but keep track. you should not just be dismissed on the basis of one mri. mostly the history and the pain location are front ...

You should call your doctor now. This is a question that s/he should be happy to answer over the phone. The answer is probably going to depend on the type and location of surgery, as well as your overall health. I know that I would be mad with myself if I waited until the scheduled appointment only to be told that I needed to be off the TNF longer then I expected before surgery. My daughter ...
