I really don't see what the big deal is. Not every even can be held in Olympic Park. Besides, Wembley Arena has a lot of history to it. Seems to me this whole thing is being overblown.

Does anyone remember the story about London's plans to mark the new Millenium by setting the Thames on fire; only for health and safety to say 'No' at the last minute? For the opening ceremony, what do people think about doing something similar around the canals which line three of the Olympic stadium's sides?

Badmington should be happy that it is a part of the olympic programme. Although the games are in London the host country is the UK so every single sport does not have to be at the Olympic Site. People who want to go and see the badmington will go regardless of where it is, those who dont want to go, wont. Why spend millions on a new temporary venue, when Wembley Arena is fully capable and wont add extra costs.
