QUOTE (dannyelbrazil @ Dec 21 2009, 09:49 PM) This piece on the head is very common among Amazon indigenous tribes of Brazil. In Rio carnaval they use this kind of "hat" for represent the indians... well duh. the allusion to carnaval was almost certainly intentional and well played. any non-brazilian would automatically jump to the double meaning. it was clever, festive and should have kicked the **** out of...

it is my fault that I've been misunderstood. Firstly my excuses for that. It isn't about the case that I didn't win in this comp. Actually I'm very very very happy that I have been a part of this. The thing was that that I was not happy with the outcome of this comp refering to the voting system. Only wingspread referred to this point that I wanted to reach everyone who was involved in this comp ( as candidate or voter) As...

QUOTE (krow @ Dec 21 2009, 03:32 PM) i really have to agree. the sochi logo was by far the better of the two entries and even that wasn't nearly as striking as the vibrant, polished eventual winner. i mean, there's only so much you can do with three lines in a 2-d logo contest. now, if in some distant future when digital technology enables animated, moving logos to replace stationary ones, then yours would pack...

I agree the Sochi logo was great when animated and used as sporting 'pictograms'. However as a stand alone logo - very early 80's. Good - but the best Sochi logo won. As for Rio.... well... the calibre was extremely high.

QUOTE (dannyelbrazil @ Dec 22 2009, 05:49 AM) Option E - Amazing logo too, but for some Amazon city hosting an event. This piece on the head is very common among Amazon indigenous tribes of Brazil. In Rio carnaval they use this kind of "hat" for represent the indians... Other thing I can say... The foot logo (which for me, it's an amazing drawing and usage of colours) shows a left foot. For Brazilians...

To be honest, fatix, your entries weren't good enough to win to start with (for me, at least). So there's no need to use that I-was-cheated-of-a-win card. Moving forward, I think we should go back to the individual post/vote system instead of anonymous polls and e-mail election.
