I can only comment on Christianity which can most certainly fit into the mold of modern society. But to suggest the banning of a religion, i have to disagree, to ban a religion seems to go against better judgement. People should have the right to practice and worship as they want. So long as it doesn't involve the harm of a person, mentally or physically Even if it's neo-paganism which I despise to the core.

Behind me would be an army of gay people and on my mark we will charge forward unto the protestors screaming "FOR THE FAGS" and then i shall impale their leader with the flag. I lol'd.

A person cannot, in intellectual honesty, believe in something that they know to be not true, or don't know to be true. If a person were truly neutral on the subject, I suppose they could make themselves lean one way or the other, but one cannot exist in a state of not inspecting the issue closer, and afterward forming an opinion. It happens, if only subconsciously. A person who is intellectually honest will realize that whether something...

Yeah Pat Condell makes some very good points. I agree with him most of the time although he does sometimes get a bit too mad and it gets kind of funny. I also agree with Thuderf00t and others.

Well, if it's true that intelligence is on the rise, and intelligence is linked with atheism, then, presumably, religious adherence will continue to decline. (Note: that's not supposed to be some kind of dig at theism or comment about anyone here. I am referencing the studies that seem to support the idea that intelligence and god belief are inversely related).
As far as making predictions ...
