If you have anti magic field I'd imagine 3-3 backtracking would be a pretty quick, easy way to get a lot of souls and spices. And if you're ballsy and good enough at killing the black phantom guards, you could cast thirst insead of anti magic field and get 50% more souls. Bleh, I was going to spew the HUGE LIST OF CRAP that I usually do when I see topics like this, but I think I can help you in a much smaller block of text. Don't worry about the differences between character and world tendency. They aren't vastly important. To raise your Character Tendency (which will raise your damage with the Demonbrandt) just kill the Named Black Phantoms in each world. If you kill all 5 without killing any NPCs...

at least you survived his attack... I had warding on he still one shot me at lv 40ish. If your melee dmg to him is very low you might need to enchant your weapon. Put some magic dmg in it and it should do decent damage.

I expect either your tendency has fallen again or you're in the wrong place, but I guess it could be a glitch.

FYI I just posted in another thread an example where Ostrava skips 1-3 entirely. I rescued him in 1-2 AFTER raising the gate in 1-3 and beating the 1-3 boss. He never showed up in nexus, but he reappeared at the stairwell in 1-4, thus negating any opportunity for me to claim a pure clearstone from him. I'd suggest that unless you observed Ostrava being killed with your own eyes, he is probably alive and well. I would only worry if you...
