Keep practicing at drawing mass. It also helps to know how each section looks and works as a geometric shape first. I love drawing mass. It's a skill I can take from life drawing and apply to my own random pictures. If I know exactly what that muscle shape is I can build up whatever figure I like and have proper anatomy. Kiedera Wacom seems to be the standard. My friend got a good 4x6 "Bamboo" model Wacom tablet recently for under $80 or $90. And he's been quite infatuated with it.
