Are there any Ducati Monster owners on this board? I'm thinking of making my next bike the naked variety, and the Ducati Monster (used - there are a few 07s on trader now) is on my radar. How is the bike for sturdiness/durability, and mechanical reliability?

and i ain't talking about any vehicle...just the really big trucks...dump trucks, 18 wheelers, school buses, coaches etc...local transit i don't mind since the exhaust is mostly pumped out the top, but those yellow school buses are just designed to dump lovely diesel smoke onto the poor commuter behind...sure i don't stay behind them long, the first chance i get i am around them and gone...but ...

I'm looking to purchasing a GPS for the bike.. Garmin makes a few motorcycle friendly ones.. I'm not too keen on the TomTom's. I heard they're great for Europe but really lack in the North American region. I'm looking to spend about $300.. can probably push $400 if it's worth it. What is everyone using? I would have loved to search.. but "GPS" is too short

I'm sick of having bad luck with my bikes, this is the 3rd bike that goes down in 7 months. I was at a gas station I thought I put the kick stand down properly, I go to pay, when I come back I see the bike on its left side. After it was cleaned, waxed and all the days I spent taking care of this bike since I got it a month ago, it had to happen again. My mint left fairing got scratched up ...

So I was roaming facebook, and I passed by the current (june 25th) chic rider wednesday meet pictures. I found this really awesome one that I think everyone should see. This is the fabled chic rider president Lori who has helped to organize all of the wednesday shopsys meets. I think this pic is bad @ss, chic riders for the win.

So I come out from work today to find by front fender all scratched up and by right mirror barely hanging on. As I get closer I noticed the steering is all f*cked up. When the wheel is straight, it looks like I'm doing a sharp right turn the way the handlebars are turned. I'm not sure what happened but it seems like a bit more than it just falling over since the top of my front fender is ...

So yesterday wasn't even that hot out, but I came out after work (a 5 hour shift) and found my kick stand sunk in a good 2 inches in the ground! I've heard about this happening and I'm just wondering what you guys do to remedy this when you have to park your bike outside for a couple hours in a parking lot.

About a year ago, while having only 2,000km of riding experience (over 30,000k now)I hooked-up with some guys for my "First-Ever" group ride. These guys road "CRAZY FAST ", had no chicken strips on their tires, did wheelies and dragged their knees in the corners. I was hoping that this was not what group rides were like. (spoken like a true noob) After that ride I swore I would ...

Don't get me wrong, I love riding, but after a minor spill on gravel, I have to rethink things. If I go down one more time because of oil or gravel on the road, I'm throwing in the towel and hanging up the keys. Maybe I'm just depressed because my bike is damaged.. again. Maybe I just lack some skillz. But one more time, and I'm done. Anyone else ever feel like this?

My budget (for the Fall anyways) should be in the $8000 range which is enough to garner any of the '05 1000cc GSXR, CBR, ZX, R1 machines. I'm finding it really difficult to decide however so I would love some feedback. It's going to be a fun street bike. No track use. I've sat on the R1 and CBR. I found them both comfortable enough with the edge going to the Honda. I've read over and ...

I'm sure everyone has heard about it already, don't have the details but heard a guy/ gal was clocked at 200 and CAUGHT!!! Now, I'm not a pro rider by any means nor am I endorsing speeding, though I know damn well atleast 75% of the cats on the sportbikes tend to get it poppin' at high speeds real often. But, if I'm moving at 200km/h you had better believe I, nor anybody else for that matter ...

So yesterday I figured I'd head out and ride a bit before the rain hits (huh?....well, there was SUPPOSED to be rain). Lately I've been riding mainly in traffic commuting so I have to admit I got a little carried away finally having some room and was passing everyone all over the place, flooring it on turns, etc. In fact I got so carried away I accidentally ran a red (!!!!!!). And later I ...
