Advice on going ot Le Mans 2010
Published (2009-10-29 11:31:00)
I did mean the June Le Mans, but since there was no category for hey I have a question, I posted it here. I was referring to the July Goodwood. Really torn between the two events (Le Mans or Goodwood). I really do hate camping.

No, I've got no idea. I suspect plans will start forming in about four years? Hopefully I'll have a GT40 of my own by then!

Another thing to consider is that much as I (maybe 12 yr old in mind if not body !) love going to Goodwood in July its very much a one day experience whereas either Le Mans event is several days long - if you love GT40's then go to Classic in July and stay at a nearby Chateau such as Château Hôtel de la Barre - Guest in French Château - Exclusive Stay in French Castle - many get full early - another option is to try to book online one...

Here’s a few pics from Saturday at Sandown. The blokes from RF put on a great display that attracted a great deal of interest, even Sir Jack Brabham stopped in for a look and was keen to check out the latest developments on the RF chassis. I’ll post up a few more pics later. Cheers, Danny

Advice on going ot Le Mans 2010

There are seven social events in the year that many of us as Brits try to take in each year. Six of them are in England and the seventh is the 24hr Du Le Mans. Next year , 2010, is the 78th running of this event and in spite of what some people say, I think, IMHO, it is head and shoulders over every other motor race event worldwide. It is an endurance race of 24 hours and takes 5 days to complete. It is also a habit forming drug that once it...

IMHO there's no comparison between the two July festivals. The Le Mans Classic outshines the Goodwood Festival of Speed to the extent that we scrub the Club's stand at Goodwood to go to Le Mans on the same weekend. Virtually all Club members with cars make a point of attending. If you have a car-mad 12 year old, the Festival of Speed is ideal, because that's the age group it's aimed at - IMHO.

Hi Ian, I found this old post containing your pace car. I have Just a quick question regarding the front orange marker lights you have installed. They look great and I was wondering if you can still supply them. If so, please PM me as I would like to order a set. If you no longer stock them, could you tell me where they came from ? Thanks, Martin

All, We have a good list of cars entered so far for the event but would like to see more. I know many of us wait until the last minute to sign up -- I am typically guilty of that as well. It would be a great help for my daughter, for planning purposes, if you register sooner rather than later -- a lttle over two weeks to go now before the Drive. I look forward to seeing all of you there -- it...

Flatchat, I'm old enough to have watched the early years of Bathurst, and have black and white photos to prove it. In my opinion, the original concept was the best; taking virtually stock, showroom cars and lining them up on a race track. See how your standard car, on its standard tyres and brakes, standard suspension, with a standard fuel tank, etc., performs in a long distance race. I agree ...

Spa 6 hours 25,26-27 september Hello, This weekend there's a fantastic event with different old cars at Spa-Francorchamps(Belgium). I visited the event for about 3 or 4 years now and it's just great. On the list for the 6 hours there are a lot of GT40's (6 or 7) http://www.roadbook.be/spasixhours/p...paSixHours. pdf . Is there someone from here who's driving there? Also a ...
