That car looks big inside, you are almost sitting in there like in a truck. With the seat in i guess your backside (a...) will be positioned much more forward and your torso will be leaning much more backwards with the legs probably stretched out a bit more. Also this car will be a awsome sounding machine => max rockatensky in a GT 40 You need to think about an on off switch for the blower. great work TOM

Firewall, Part II Experimenting with new techniques is part of the fun of this hobby. Figuring a good way to cover the bump on the fire wall in a decent manner was once such project. We considered several options. First, one could find a good seamstress and stitch a patch in the vinyl cover. Second, one could glue a section of vinyl over the gap. We tried that and did not like the way it looked. So we came up with another idea, which worked...

Hi Phil, Boy - at 80" wide, I wonder if that would even tit inside my trailer! I do believe that the original Gulf-Wide body cars had wider flares on the front as well which was why I asked.. You're doing a great job on this car and I'm glad to hear your side-kick Billy is still keeping the shop in order!

OMG! I have been in a modern GT where the pulley is right behind you, and that is awesome. It looks like you might have to pad this one, in case you are riding without a helmet, so you don't smack your noggin on it. Talk about strapping on an engine!

Yes, I noticed that the ammeter terminals are pretty robust. Does that mean that all the power for all the accessories needs to go through it- like all the lights, etc? I'm not sure I want to do THAT. Thanks for the offer; you can also PM me as well or send me an email. I have some bits and pieces around here that maybe you'll be able to use. Boy, do I have some bits and pieces.

Had a bit of a break through today. The front suspension has been getting the best of me for a while. Because I tapered the front of the Chassis. I had it all figured out in the roll center program and then I discovered I had some bars in the way and it sent me into a bit of a tail spin. But I changed my Ideas for how I was going to do the mounts and today I have a functional upper control arm and mounts clamped in place. If I recommend one...

Chuck, Here is what i can tell you. My AC lines fit very well. I thought they were for the left hand side! I just tweaked them them a little to get around my front swaybar. They actually fit pretty well. I did a little bending but not much at all.
The braces under the dash came out then Cut them to fit around the evaporator. No big deal there.
My speedo sending unit mounts on the front. ...

Congrats on the article Scott, unfortunately the pics are a little bleached in the scan of the article. Bummer because car looks sweet in the pictures you have posted in the past, the scans lose a little of the quality "feel" of the build. Nice car though.

Some photos of the exhausts.
Because room is somewhat restricted around the back of the motor, I decided it was easier to put the collectors in place and then work back from there. Photos here of the rhs headers show them half finished. A bit of a mission because they had to go under the rollbar backstay and over a diagonal brace which goes from the crosstube between the shock mounts by the...

Air and Heat, Part I Two little problems, two easy solutions. 1. There is no provision for adjusting air flow between the side dash vents and the floor vent. There is a lever on the evaporator case which accomplishes that task but it is not accessible once the unit is installed. Realistically, one will not need to be changing the direction of the air flow very often, so ...

Let me just add, it is I who would recommend the new RF guys to anyone who'll listen.
The wording looks a bit suspect, I missed out the word "I" in that quote. Sorry!

Decided to built a original style front frame today, because i love the look of it.
Started with printing out a lot of pictures of original or original replicas.
Skteched it on the RCR front frame.
made a sketch with the main dimensions afterwards
and started to build, using 25x25mm; 20x20mm, 15x15m square tubing to achieve the original look and also some thickwalled 12mm round ...
