damn..ET20 in the wheel means that comes too much outside the body. Maximum et allowed over e36 cars is et34..I am twice such number. LOL my car now seems as a farmer tractor. Discovered over my skin, more low is ET number more outside comes the wheel...

Hello Jim, That's some excellent info to know. I never gave it much of a thought that there would be so many experienced people in the area. Your kind of information can save weeks of hunting down these types of shops. That really opens my eyes to another way of looking at the build already. Now I'm thinking MD was meant to be, and for this reason! Thanks for your rely and hope to meet up in the near future...

Yeah, I've spent thirteen years just in Annapolis. Some of these folks weren't even in business when I moved here. It takes a long time to find people like these- skilled craftsmen who are knowledgeable and reliable and proud of their work. I am very fortunate to know these folks and I make sure they know I feel that way. And if you need a set of headers for a GT40, I can HIGHLY recommend the guys in Minnesota- Stainless Headers,...

I agree completely Frank, Phil IS a really nice guy but more importantly his products are first class. I have his BRM's on my GTD. In fact the 17" BRMs on my car are the first set he produced in 17". We met at the Long Beach GP about 10 years ago and I talked him into scaling up the 15" BRM's. He agreed and I have them on my car. They are VERY strong. I have had them into and over the curb at 30 MPH with...

Ron,
Yes, it's simple enough to do, as you've reasoned out already. However, if instead of using electrical conduit, you simply use a long 2x to connect the protruding ends of all of your supports, that will give added strength.
Or, you could just do what I do--store all your spare tires in your livingroom.

It seems a little weird that they refuse to place photos of the car on their Ebay selling site. Never seen that before.

Where is your house in MD? I am in Hampstead . I will gladly show you my RCR when you get here. Also, Carlisle is very close to Maryland so that would be a great place to check out some GT40s. There are also several others in the area.

Trev, I would be very cautious about using Vinyl in a garage. I think you would have trouble moving stuff about, I have vinyl in my kitchen and everything digs into it when you try to move them. I would also expect that petrochemicals would soften it(at the very least) and cause problems. Not sure what the next best solution after paint would be, but if you are on a long term rent why not talk ...
