Hot Potato Additions and Notices
Published (2009-12-05 09:49:00)
The last time Hot Potato was on the schedule, they stopped at March 30, 1984 but they went through the entire series. Compared to what USA Network stopped at the last time they reran that, they were at May 1984(I think they were in the "Daytime Soap Stars vs. Nighttime Stars" week) and April 5, 1984 was the last episode to be rerun before many Goodson/Todman shows officially returned to the network(yes, that includes color...

Ryan, I hope all goes well with your health. I hope you can upload some select episodes of Eubanks' Card Sharks (including the July 1988 range board debut) in the near future.

The other critical differences were the demonstrations of the secrets and performances by contestants, which often took on more importance than the gameplay itself. Your NEXT schedule change...

I can't believe that just a few years ago, GSN had what I thought was a perfectly good schedule: All the classics (pre-1995 according to my view on classics) in the daytime, and all the modern ones in the nighttime. I don't know, I thought that was good enough.

Worst Game Show Moment of This...

I didn't know he hosted Wheel until that moment. I was too young to remember his episodes. This was before wikipedia and besides most of the eps are lost. Sure older fans knew it and remembered him hosting...I didn't. Greed had a few of those moments...the guy who thought there was a send button on the computer or the one that thought Let Freedom Ring was a lyric in the Star-Spangled Banner. The $25,000 loss:...

GSN didn't skip anything. From October 2001 through April 2002 there were two separate runs of Eubanks' CS on the network - a morning run airing episodes from 1988, and an afternoon run airing episodes from 1986.

I knew it! I knew that, if GSN would show the Password Plus and Super Password episodes that were skipped in July 2005 in years since, it wouldn't be one bit surprising if GSN aired the episodes of Match Game '77 and '78 that were skipped in July 2005 eventually as well.
Match Game fans are in for a real treat soon. I bet Duane will be happy to read the news.

Something I notice right away w/ this 1st episode of the $100K Pyramid is with the intro.
Usually during the intro, the show's title name is shown onto a closer-up shot of the Big WC Pyramid, but during these early Clark $100K Pyramid eps., it seems that the show's title logo seems smaller than in later eps.

As if the two-day Deal or No Deal marathon wasn't apt to leave a bad taste in your mouth, just wait until that weekend rolls around. Per Zap2It, the weekend schedule starting 11/28 will go a little something like this:
Times ET
9:00 AM: Hollywood Squares (Bergeron) (replaces Match Game [SYN])
9:30 AM: Whammy (replaces Password Plus)
10:00 AM: Chain Reaction (Lane) (replaces Super ...

The original PASSWORD had a couple of interesting moments on this morning's show with Betsy Palmer and Peter Lind Hayes.
At the start of the show, Peter put those black things on his teeth to make it look like he was missing a few!
Near the end of that same show a noise was heard backstage. Seconds later the camera showed the "R" in the PASSWORD sign had fallen onto the desk!
That ...

Because it's not productive and it's another negative, pointless thread! I suspect this one is going away too....Believe me, I am the BIGGEST supporter of free speech and everyone should express their views, but the last few weeks/months have been a rehash of the same over and over and over again....
Why not start a thread about your favorite classic show instead of "Let's Boycott GSN"......

Any episode featuring the wonderful and multi-talented Holly Hallstrom,
just to piss Barker off and prove what a complete and utter moron he is for
firing her, and denying her existence.

I started watching GSN around late 1997-early 1998(during the Dark Period,
of course) timeframe but I too got lucky to get GSN before TPIR was even
got axed from the schedule.

Do you believe Dick Clark actually reads any of the posts here? I don't.
But I feel bad for the guy post-stroke. It's become painful to listen to him speak as co-host New Year's Rockin' Eve every year. Although someone who can still talk normally (Ryan Seacrest) is far more annoying, Clark has become more of a figurehead.....much like the late Japanese Emperor Hirohito in his later ...
