For me none has worked either, word of mouth has worked and referrals. And that is a slow process.

Do you have a special contract for repeated clients to sign every time they come to you for work? Do you require them to pay down payment even for small jobs? or have you built that trust relationship so that you can avoid this procedure? For larger projects i can see why there is a need to go through this but for smaller ones how do you go about it?

Adwords has anyone had success?

Here is something I found out about today that might interest the readers here. Here is this really great organization you all can join to give a little: http://www.onepercentfortheplanet.org/en/ The premise is you give 1% of your income to non-profits and you get to use their mark to show customers how great a person you are for giving back to the community.

I provide free 1hour consultation to new prospects but what if they come back for more without making any decision to purchase? Would you verbally tell them that they will be charged an hourly fee? Have you been in that situation before?

This is the first job with the salesman involved. That's why I thought it was weird.

I have decided that tomorrow morning I will be walking from my house a couple miles down the street stopping and talking to the small businesses along the way.
