USB Power problem for Nuvi 680
Published (2008-11-16 10:07:00)
I hope this doesn't fall under the category of *stupid questions*, but here goes... I'm trying to power my Nuvi 680 on my motorcycle using a Powerlet USB power cord. The problem is that as soon as I plug it into the USB socket the unit immediately goes into USB Mass Storage mode, showing the normal GPS-to-computer screen. Obviously, I'm not hooking into a computer. I guess I would have expected the machine to be intelligent...

stellarpod, The USB cable does not supply power to the GPS...! You did not say what motorcycle you have. Assuming that you have one with 3/4" to 1" diamerter Handlebars, the following will work. You must use the Garmin cradle and the power cable that comes with the NUVI680. The NUVI cradle fits into the RAM cradle and you'll be good to go...! RAM Cradle for the NUVI680 http://www.gpscity.com/ramholga23 These pieces will...

I've got a map 60cs, and the screen was badly scratched in a fall. I called Garmin a couple years ago, and they wanted some ridiculous amount to replace it (something like $225 or so), so I decided to just live with it. Since then, the gps has been used hard. More scratches on screen, and the numbers and letters have been worn off most of the buttons. Anyway to purchase and replace ...

When I plug in my Garmin to my PC with my USB cable, I'd always be careful to "stop" the device before unplugging. But I just unplugged it one time. Now when I try to plug it back in, it just shows "Loading maps..." and no folders or drive letters pop up for me to access the Garmin memory or the SD card via my USB. Also, I can't start up the Garmin all the way. It just comes to the screen that...

Do I go with the 'NT' or non 'NT' version? Non 'NT' appears to offer camground information and we travel with a fifth wheel when in Canada/USA. Which one is the proper format for me? Please help.... thanks ...

Firstly like to say hi to everyone. This is my first post. I have a GPSMAP 60CSx. I have spent hundreds of hours mapping biking routes in our local mountains and would like to now be able to put the profile (Graph) of some of these tracks into a document. There is no facility to save/ copy or print the profile. Does anyone know if this can be done, and if so how? Thanks in ...

Hello, I just wanted to post that it seems possible to replace the internal "Memmory Battery" in a old GPS III Pilot. I just took mine apart and found a "Panasonic BR2032" battery welded (I don't believe they were soldered, I tryed a soldering iron to remove them) to two flat wire connectors. The BR2032 is a 3 volt, 190 milli amp hour, 0.03 milli amp continuous standard load, poly-...
