Hello, So as in subject: is it a possibility to disable/disapaer all icon other than this for a specific application ? and of course all option on the right click on the Desktop so "open a terminal" create a new ... "etc .... Thanks for any help, Gilbert

I have just installed Ubuntu 8.10, 64 bit, and one of the first things I notice is that drawers on the panel behave strangely: First time I open one, it happens instantly, but every time after that it is significantly slower, almost agonisingly so. Why is that? And can I do anything to make it work properly?

In attempting to speed up my ubuntu
8.04, I modified my /etc/X11/xorg.conf. I set the display color depth to 16 bits per pixel from the previous default value of 24. Now, gridlines appears on movies when I play them in Totem. How do I remove the gridlines without having to revert back to the default color depth of 24 bits per pixel? What must I do? .
