Why Would I Want A 2500ld Vs 1500
Published (2009-11-25 09:41:00)
Oh ok thanks for clearing that up. I will keep my eye out for a vmax. After discussion on this board it sounds like that is what I need. That way I get the selectable 4wd and the 6.0

Readylift Leveling Kit And Rear...
Published (2009-11-25 21:48:00)
( Sorry about the incomplete post.... The blocks are either 1" or 2" high and go between the rear axle and the rear springs....so it is technically a suspension lift in the rear, though pretty minor. Of course I would really like a 6-8" chasis lift, but the cost is a bit prohibitive..... My concern with the rear lift blocks \(I am favoring the 2" units\) is that it would change the drive shaft angle and put...

I agree with Jim4C. Even if it's not the lines there is a tsb about getting the fitting to seal to the block. Jim4C not trying to be a smart a$$. My internet screwed up and every time I hit refresh it reposted. This post has been edited by thearborbarber : Today, 08:58 AM

my opinion is. i think the ccsb looks better than the lb. i dont park any car/ truck in my garage, its for working in and i dont want to play musical cars when i need to do something. only way for me to get a long bed would have to be a dually, i love dually's, but i dont need one. funny thing around my area is, i can tell you who else doesnt need a dually with the busted fenders driving around. lol

Trailer Plug

QUOTE (smiledr996s @ Nov 22 2009, 12:40 PM) Hello, I have a newly aquired used 2006 2500hd . There is a preditor brake controller that lights up and appears to function. I went to use the trailer for the first time the other day and noticed that the trailer lights did not work. When I purchased the truck the plug was full of dirt and corroded, so I cleaned it . I picked up a used one at a salvage yard, and still nothing. I...

Oil Pressure Problem
Published (2009-11-22 09:36:00)
Rule of thump for oil pressure is 6psi for the first 1000RPM and 1psi for every thousand after that. As long as you have that your okay. 30psi is fine you shouldn't have any issues. You could try a mechanical gauge just to check your gauge in the cluster.

265 0r 285 Tires?
Published (2009-11-23 15:25:00)
The 285's will effect your mileage... Plain and simple. It's wider, taller and heavier. The 265's look pretty good, but if mileage wasn't an issue, the 285's do look better especially on the HD's Mileage on the 2500's is going to be 11-15.. and I'm sure you'll see 1-2mpg drop if you go larger than 265's.

I just noticed the same thing on mine today. From searching around this forum, appears to be a common issue which is normal transmission noise. However, I would recommend calling the service department and asking about it, thats what I am going to do. Not too worried about it with the 100K warranty, but it is annoying.

I would take a close look at the cooling lines. It is a good possibility.

How much bigger in tires are you planning on going? If you go bigger tires, you're gonna want to upgrade your 4:10 to at least a 4:56 or higher. Even running 285's, i've heard about people wanting to change out the rear. I'm assuming you are wanting to run 35's? I'm not sure about these blocks you are talking about, but when I had a HD spring added in the rear I gained 3" in the rear. ...

Your instrument cluster is defective. There is a TSB about this issue. If you're under 70k miles, GM will replace free of charge. After that it's on you. http://www.gm-trucks.com/forums/index.php?showtopi c=68450

I just recently had some damage done to my truck at about the same speed. I couldn't believe how much damage was done. There shouldnt be any frame damage. Talking to the guy at the body shop, he said vehicles are made to crumble like a house of cards. Your body is like a giant pillow absorbing the pressure so you dont get as hurt and it doesnt absorb into the frame.

I had a 91 Z71 about 5 or 6 years ago that did the same thing. I would have to pull the fuse but the module would get wet from me washing it and thats when it would do it. After it dried out I could put the fuse back in and they would be fine.

I love long trucks. Unfortunately I couldn't get a crew long bed in a 1500. So I got the longest I could with the extended cab long bed. I really have no need for a 2500 or higher so I got to stick to what I can get in a 1500. Mike

I initially had a Flowmaster with twin 2.5" tailpipes....just that change killed a lot of low end torque. Not good for towing...ugh. So, I swapped the muffler for the longer Magnaflow \(sounds more mellow and throaty\) and changed the tailpipes to 2 1/4" on the recommendation of the muffler guy who is pretty smart in this things.... Anyway, I was amazed at the gain in low end grunt...

It sounds right under the middle of the bed its very irritating. The entire exhaust is all new its a 2003 1500HD with 60,000 miles. It only seems to make this noise when warmed up. I read one post about the drive shafts making...
