4wd Acutator ...loose Brown Wire...

QUOTE (zaac @ Nov 28 2009, 02:40 PM) Hi Brett, I'm no mechanic but have fixed some problems with the push button 4x4. I'm really starting to despise this push button stuff. Too much to go wrong with all the extra wires and electric motors. I would rather have a simple gear shift lever. With mine I would try to shift to 4x4 and the light would flash and then go back to solid 2x4 light. Problem was the encoder. When I...

No I don't have any info. Call your local police department and ask if the state has any laws against it, or if your city/village/town has any local ordinences forbidding it. --------------------

Headlight Indicator On Dash
Published (2009-11-27 19:48:00)
If it's a green indicator light, it's showing the (hated by me, and disconnected) daytime running lights are on. The green light goes out only when the 'real' headlights are on.

Getting Clunking Sound After A Stop
Published (2009-11-26 14:03:00)
a easy sure check for the slip yoke clunk is put some weight(100 lbs or so or a couple of big friends in a safe parking lot works great) at the tailgate end of the box.....take her for a drive and see is noise is gone or changed ..by putting weight in the box it pushes the slip yoke farther on the output shalf and usually makes the noise go away.....easy repair is then to grease the splines on slip yoke

Its illegal in all states. I would start with a headlight restoring kit and see how much that helps and then go from there.

Could it be a slight exhaust leak, since it only does it cold? My understanding is that folks have been clearing up their lifter tick by moving to a synth blend or full synth oil. I actually need to do this on the next il change in our 02 Avy. --Mike

QUOTE (uniquebrett @ Nov 28 2009, 07:04 AM) I have a 97 z71 4wd with the push button 4wd switch. Currently the 4wd lights blink and the 4wd does not engage. I have found a loose brown wire under my truck near the transfer case....I am sure this is the problem. the wire traces back to the front differiential actuator. I think this wire goes to the transfer case switch, but I do...

Can you duplicate it again by just applying the brakes and then releasing again, without the vehicle moving? So far the things I would check would be: Slip yoke/spline for proper lubrication. Drive shaft u joints and carrier bearing. The differential for excessive play Brake shoes and drums

Howdy, I have a Flowmaster 50 series dual in dual out on my 98 Silverado with a 350, and I like it a lot! its has a really nice growl to it, and its really quiet in the cab. I am really happy with it. The 50 series is the quieter of the Flowmaster line up. But heres a few links of my truck with the muffler on it, to give you some idea of how it sounds. Hope this helps! http://www....
