America has stretched the levels of tolerance in size of FWD architectures. This is an uniquely American phenomenon and has worked because its cheaper to package a FWD car and you can get a lot for less. Who can argue with that? Whether an eventual Taurus success -I have to agree with Buick, we can't certify such success just yet, although it is surely looks like its going in the right direction - will doom RWD platforms at Ford forever...

^^^Correct - there is a reason until now the 3.5l EB was only put in applications where it matched MPG and increased HP - Ford did not want the initial impression of the EB program to be "wheezy little engine - but the mileage is astounding" The Mustang 3.5l EB, the F150 3.5l EB and most importantly the Explorer 2.0l EB will start shifting that. In the former two, the EB will be midrange - so you can get the same performance...
