You could easily get 2 1/2 hour HD movies that take more than 9GB, in fact a high bitrate SD file of that duration could probably fill an 8GB DVD-9 disk. Martin

Thanks for testing that Martin. The FF/Rew issue isnt a big deal.. I usually watch something thru, and pause works for munchie-grabbing.

Believe it or not: I checked in your post if it should be single or double quotes. Thank you and good night, Hans

Thank you very much for the reply, but I can't find where in direct.ini I make the change to the Quick Record setting. Specifically, I want to change the default resolution to "high." Regards, Chris

Martin, I searched the forum and found the 8/22/09 NMT files. Once I got those reinstalled all is good running with v1.3.11 again. Thanks for the pointers. My issues with 1.4.7 and LiveTV were on my MVPs, no trouble with the NMT until I rolled back my GBPVR to v1.3.11. -Brad

You can edit the direct.ini file to set whatever bitrate/resolution you'd prefer to use.

GBPVR and WinTV PVRUSB2MCE
Published (2009-11-30 03:40:00)
Hello, Does anyone know if the WinTV PVRUSB2MCE is the same as the WinTV PVRUSB2? The WinTV PVRUSB2MCE comes with the MCE remote, but I want to know if the functioning PVR is the same (ie, works with the same drivers) and thus will work with GBPVR. The Hauppauge support site doesn't specifically state, although the drivers 'appear' to be the same. Thought I would check here before shelling out some hard earned cash. Thanks in...

I use two MVPs here and the only issue I have seen is the black screen on return from live tv. Skip forward or back working fine as well as comskip. I run win2k on a pent 4 box.

WinTv7 transcodes only in PAL?...
Published (2009-11-26 03:20:00)
I use ffmpeg to transcode recordings taken from a Hauppauge HVR-2250. I then watch these on the MVP. It does take some time though, it won't work on the fly. You need to wait for the transcoding to end (which there is no great way to tell when that is just through the MVP). Below is the link to the method I used to keep track of the digital vs analog recordings and the batch files to transcode the files properly. GBPVR uses these and all...

If you are making the files on your own, my first guess is that they have a bad time coding. mvpmc does a lot to sync a/v on reasonable mpeg files but if they are way off you might need to just pass them to the hardware and hope and turn this feature off with --no-seek-sync Also GBPVR doesn't support mpeg1 The prefered dongle has been linked in the survival guide for many versions of ...

I'm seeing two new problems with the MediaMVP which are new since upgrading to 1.4.7 for 1.3.11. Black screen after hitting stop during live TV Commercial skip timing badly inaccurate If I am watching live TV and hit stop to get back to the Guide, I just get a black screen. The only thing I can do is hit the power button on the remote. Anything else just leaves the black screen. Also,...

That is a transcoding error. If you are using GBPVR to transcode on-the-fly and play, upload your logs. The GBPVR default for ts to mpg doesn't work in North America, and it is a challenge even for SD because of the AC3 audio. Martin

I nearly made the same post this morning. I finally ordered one this morning. I had been putting it off and putting it off since I'm cheap. But college football has started and I have my media server/tuners out in the garage. I am tired of watching tv in the garage. I was afraid I had missed out on the refurb deal since they were out of stock for so long. I can't wait for it to arrive....

Thanks that is another of the many Realtek based devices out there. They are characterized by excellent specs and a good price and no GBPVR cliet. I'd like to get one to play with but there are so many brands I'm watching to see if one might make a client. xtreamer is probably the most hacked but no where close to offering a remote client. The refurbished A100's and the EGreat M34a are ...

Your best bet is to search the NMT forums, http://www.networkedmediatank.com/sh...ght=Canon+H F10 there is often a lot of information. AVCHD and other photo movie standards like M-JPEG format in general can be a problem on the NMT, so I am not sure what the distinction is that makes this camera acceptable. You might want to confirm your question there. m2ts files are played with the NMT ...
