Thanks that is another of the many Realtek based devices out there. They are characterized by excellent specs and a good price and no GBPVR cliet. I'd like to get one to play with but there are so many brands I'm watching to see if one might make a client. xtreamer is probably the most hacked but no where close to offering a remote client. The refurbished A100's and the EGreat M34a are typically what people are looking for. Martin

AVCHD and PH A-100

Thank for the reply. From the link it appears I can play my HF10 AVCHD files on the stock PH interface, but maybe not using GBPVR. Ideally I would for the most part use GBPVR interface for movies/TV and then occasionally "toggle" back to the original PH interface to watch AVCHD files. Is this possible to use both interfaces? How user friendly would it be (WAF factor)?

Jumping back & forward between the NMT's native applications & GB-PVR is fairly straight forward & simple depending on the method you use to load GB. I guess the WAF would depend on your wife as there are a few buttons to press each way. With my wife who is computer literate I got the "I don't want one of those" (referring to the NMT over an MVP) when I showed her the loading procedure...

Hisense 1080p Media Player
Published (2009-11-05 22:44:00)
Just spotted this new media player; http://www.reghardware.co.uk/2009/11...hisense_1080p/ looks like it could be the HD-MVP that we've been waiting for, similar form factor and price etc. Just wonder whether the geniuses (genii??) here could get the GBPVR GUI working on it? Anyway, thought you might be interested.

Your best bet is to search the NMT forums, http://www.networkedmediatank.com/sh...ght=Canon+H F10 there is often a lot of information. AVCHD and other photo movie standards like M-JPEG format in general can be a problem on the NMT, so I am not sure what the distinction is that makes this camera acceptable. You might want to confirm your question there. m2ts files are played with the NMT ...

That is a transcoding error. If you are using GBPVR to transcode on-the-fly and play, upload your logs. The GBPVR default for ts to mpg doesn't work in North America, and it is a challenge even for SD because of the AC3 audio. Martin

If you want to get the GBPVR interface the MVP and the NMT are the only option. Of the NMT's the EGreat M34a has more features then the first generation A100. If you don't want the GBPVR interface comskip or live tv, then there are several newer models, after all my A100 is almost 2 years old now. For state-of-the art in media players I think that will be the Syabas C-200 as the ...

I nearly made the same post this morning. I finally ordered one this morning. I had been putting it off and putting it off since I'm cheap. But college football has started and I have my media server/tuners out in the garage. I am tired of watching tv in the garage. I was afraid I had missed out on the refurb deal since they were out of stock for so long. I can't wait for it to arrive....

If I read this correctly you want to attach a DVD drive to the EGreat to play disks. It can be done, via USB and maybe with the EGreat's eSATA, but it is not really practical because the NMT software doesn't play commercial DVD's with DRM. Martin
